Magazine Leak
« on: May 15, 2010, 03:05:36 PM »
Okay, so I have a KWA G18c gas magazine that seems to be leaking gas.  I'm pretty damn sure the seal needs to be replaced.

I've googled a few guides that shows me how to disassemble the magazine, and I can go ahead and replace the o-ring.... if I could find where to purchase it.
So to the point:
Where can I get an oring that will fit my KWA G18c gas magazine?

I've removed the baseplate, but cannot seem to find any screw at the bottom of the KWA/KSC G18 magazine.

I've googled and whatnot, but can't seem to find any guide on how to disassemble my magazine to replace the air seal.
Can someone link me one?

Are there any pins on the sides of the magazine near the base plate? If there are, take them out and the bottom of the mag should come out showing you the rubber gasket. from my experience with ggb. Its not an o-ring its a square gasket. If the gasket is in one peice and feels dry. try soaking it in silicone lub for a few minutes and it should be fine.

Sometimes it is just a rubber o-ring but it can be a square gasket depending on the manufacturer.  My TM gbb has square gaskets, and my KJW's all have o-rings (note: those are older guns i haven't taken apart my new one).  I've never taken apart a KWA but even if your gasket is broken its easy to tell what it was.

As TMP said there may be two pins keeping the base plate on at the bottom of the magazine.  Tap them out SLOWLY with a small punch, but be really careful not to damage the pin slots.
