KWC Colt 1911 Safety
« on: August 25, 2010, 07:48:59 PM »
I have a KWC style colt, and the safety was wobbly, so I unscrewed the grip on it to tighten it up. When I did, a spring and a plastic piece came undone in front of the safety, and I can't put it back together. Is it possible to reassemble? Thanks for the help.

yes it is possible to reassemble it.

put the spring and pin back in, hold them in place with the tip of a screwdriver while you put the safety back on.

I'm still wondering though, is there any way to tighten the safety, because it is a bit wobbley on mine.

First thought: Get a new one.

Second thought: What axis is it wobbly in?

It moves up and down when it's not snapped into safe.

Put a stronger spring or differently shaped pin in the slot.(the one you didn't know how to get back in)

Put something (preferably something removable) in the slot behind the spring so there is more pressure.  Work's pretty much the same as getting a stronger spring.  A little wad of foam or something should work fine.
