Outdated Gas mask
« on: October 20, 2010, 10:21:04 PM »
So, I recently bought a Russian GP-5 gas mask to use as full face protection during airsoft and look cool at the same time. But, I've read that outdated gas masks can become deadly after 5 years (this one was made in the mid 80's). I've also read that the GP-5's filter can only become deadly if there is a tear in the cotton filter, because there is charcoal inside the filter.

Which one is true?

As long as the Army doesn\'t know my motivation, they\'ll gladly call me a war hero.

the glass eye ports may break if hit . it happened at a zombie game i went to, lucky the kid wasnt hurt,  it wasnt form close quarters ether  it was from a kwa D eagle  long barrel for about 30 ft away.  just keep that in mind.   i have a nice riot gas mask that has a approved visor shield that  attaches over the front line of vision.  without it the entire face is made of clear rubber it was only about 20 bucks at  a surplus
