puffed isn't always an indicator of broken. Slightly puffed is a normal operating condition of a lipo cell.

Put it in your liposack (you got one, right? you should have) and charge it in a well ventillated area.

Few possibilities:

1. It bursts... the liposack and good ventilation protect your house from burning down... get a new battery.
2. It doesn't burst, but gets puffier... the lipo is near it's end of life, and you should have listened to warnings about socom gear batteries.
3. It is over discharged, and your smart balance charger (You got a nice charger, right? That's pretty important) won't charge it, or the battery's over-discharge protection circuit activates and has permanently disabled the battery. Alternatively, you may have a battery without this protection and a low-end dumb lipo charger (yes, they make them, even with balance capabilities), and it explodes... refer to possibility 1.
4. It's fine and you go on with life.

you might be better off talking with people at a hobby shop about this.

But... if you don't have a liposack... charge it in something like an ammo can or other completely non-flammable, heat proof container, outdoors.

i suppose a grill counts as both non-flammable and heatproof.

basically, just something to keep it from burning anything important if it decides to light on fire.

If you aren't ready to be at least somewhat knowledgeable about lipos, you shouldn't be using them to begin with. They are much safer than they used to be, but still are much more labor intensive than other battery types.

I use cheapy ebay lipos. If they blow, it isn't a problem that way. There is a specific pack that most people on here recommend... try a search for it.

Just doing my part in education about a somewhat hard to learn about subject (with all the hype and people looking to scare other people frivolously).

And remember kids: Only YOU can prevent house-fires.
