Introductions
« on: August 29, 2012, 09:19:48 PM »
Hey all! I'm Christian and I finally decided I wanted to get into some real airsoft. Ordered my gun today. I played way back in highschool just in my friends back yard and did some paintballing before that. I haven't been involved with the sport for a few years and am looking to get back into it.

I ended up going with a AGM Full Metal M4 TDW-RAS AEG Rifle. Or a Scar-L. Sounded like an OK budget gun.

Also, I have a Traxxas Slash 4x4 running LiPo's so I have a smart charger. However I'm not sure if I have the connection I need to charge the battery. Anyone know if I can put traxxas battery connections on the gun and battery? Any reason that wouldn't work? Thanks!

Well it sounds like you already have a lipo charger for your RC. I run a lipo in my gun, and although I'm not sure if I can charge a standard NiCd or NiMh battery on my charger I know that my friend's smart charger can. About the connections, yeah you can put whatever connections on that will fit inside the gun body. Haha. I have deans on my gun.

Welcome to the forum dude.  :)

Haha yeah I have a venom smart charger. I am good for 4 or 5 different types of battery. I'm not sure my gun is LiPo ready as in it doesn't have a low voltage cut off. I'd hate to lose one because I didn't know how long to run it.

Thanks for the info, I'll be headed down to Hobby Action to get the connectors changed.

Yeah I don't have a low voltage cut off, I just consciously pay attention to my rof for when it starts getting slow. But that's never happened yet. I have a 5000mAh battery and I go multiple games between charges. You could get something like this though: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/gt-power-lipo-battery-meter-2-6s.html

Good luck with everything, hope to see you on the field. Go check out the RSVP/Game info sections of the forum.
