Yeah mine has the opposite problem. Mine likes to shoot in Semi and will not switch to FUll without some bullying. When you have the slide drawn back if you flip the gun over and look at the bottom of the selector assembly, at least on mine, there is a small bar in there. When you switch from full to semi the bar moves places. What mine does is that it becomes crooked instead of completly moving from one spot to the other. It should be parralel with the rear of the weapon when it is in either position. If it is not it is not in the correct spot to switch the modes.

That is all I have been able to figure out.

You two should put those two guns in a room together and let them sort their problems out!

I had similar problem. And it was more astonishing while my metal slide was installed by wargamers shop "experts".  Couse was MISSING part 262. I solved problem by inserting a piece of very elastic plastic foam and it's working for a year.

Screwloose are you sure that the bar on the inside of the selector switch (part 255) isn't just inappropriately fit into the little half circle at other side of the slide (part 260)? When putting my slide back togather I had a real problem getting the half-cirlce (part 260) to fit on the outside of the selector (255). Mine did that diaganol rod thing until I went back in and made sure that the shaft of the bar of part 255 was completely pushed into part 260 hole.

MUahaha, after writing that brief section I get how it works to an extent. I will referr to parts by their part No. ,it goes something like this. Cocking the gun locks hammer (263) back and lowers part 92. When trigger is pulled the gun cycles once (how this happens doesn't matter for us). After the first cycle, part 251's final allowable lowered position is determined by where the bar is. The bar stops part 251 from lowering to it's lowest position when the gun is set to fully auto. If the gun is set to semi-auto part 251 will lower even further back and somehow that is perhaps not far enough back or something on my gun, because that is the factor that makes the gun go semi or full auto. Then I think 251 has something to do with the hammer and controlling the trigger assembly. I will attempt adjust part 260's position to see if it is the factor that is contributing to the faliure of my gun. If anyone know's how the process works, post a brief description.

Glock 18c Semi-auto problem.
« Reply #6 on: September 29, 2003, 03:43:01 AM »
Seems to me someone else had had this problem too, but I couldn't find the old post. Anyways, a while back I installed the Metal slide for my Glock 18c that I bought from Airsplat.com. It's been a while and I finally have to admit I need help. For some reason my glock will not stop cycling while firing on Semi-Auto (while holding the trigger in). Most of the time it will continue to fire as if it was fully auto, and then it will stop after about 5-20 additional shots and the slide will lock back into place and wait for the next trigger pull as it should. It seems to make a difference depending on what gas I am using. When I look into the trigger/ fire selector assembally I don't understand what exactly makes the cycle stop, but I can see which parts move when changed from semi to full auto under the slide. Anyone have any ideas what's going on here? I have been only using full auto mode for fear of further fatuguing the parts which may be failing to stop the slide, but I would like the ability to fire semi-auto. It would help me if you simply know what parts stop the cycle on semi (numbered parts in diagram in G18c manual).

p.s. I really must say that the G18c on full auto has an unreal ROF and while not to accurate, it is the mother of all cqb weapons as far as I am concerned. With a hi-cap clip this is the ultimate point and spray weapon. LOVE IT! [:P]
