I interviewed a Vietnam Vet about two years ago. Quite frankly, one of the coolest guys I've ever met. I could go on and on about the stories he told and the pictures he showed me (pictures he took!), but there was one thing that struck me: When I asked him if he felt that the war was justified, he just looked up to me and quietly said, "Son, I don't know if the war was right or wrong, but if they asked me to go again, I'd would." This is a man who was paralyzed from the waist down by a hollow point sniper round since he was 19 (that was his third injury). I won't deny lead's statement: we cannot allow needless sacrifice, but I will always stand by the people who answered their country's call and have payed with their time, bodies, and even lives.
