This post has been edited from it's original writing to better show my current progress with the gun.

What: TM MP5A5, Eg700 motor, spring upgraded(Only slightly better than stock spring, can't remember what though). It's about 5 years old with around 3-4 thousand bb's through it.  Running an 8.4 1700 battery in it.

I got the gun taken completely apart...didnt lose a single piece(I hope).
Was looking at WGC and just trying to familiarize myself with names of parts.  I have a rough idea of what to call everything, instead of "that round thing that goes in the other round thing with gear teeth on it" that is now known as... the piston.

At any rate, everything looks fine.  I cant see anything worn down or obviously snapped, which leaves me to wonder what made the mp5 not function in the first place.  Wiring? I have no tool to test that...I'll see if there is some back alley crack street fashion of checking.

Onto my mental picture for the gun:
I want it around 390 fps, I'll be putting a much longer barrel on it...i could go with up to 400mm length, hk51(369mm) or m4a1(363mm) or would it be too much a risk to get a G3 barrel and have it cut down to meet my exact length? That would be done by a guy who knows what he's doing when it comes to metal working.  

For now, I'll keep looking into the parts...silicone aluminum polycarbonate...high-torque(Assuming for heavier springs?) vs high speed(Guessing lower power spring but high rate of fire?) and should I keep the 700 motor or go ahead and get the 1000 since everything will be under more strain now?  Also...bigger voltage battery, got that.

Any links you guys may have or first hand knowledge would be great.

It realy depends. If it is an ICS mp5, forget it and move on. If it is a marui there is much that can be done. I actually bought a new marui mechbox for my ICS mp5 and then just scrapped the whole gun, bought a M4 trigger and used the gearbox to make my M4 form scratch. I occasionaly sift through the mp5 parts looking for an odd screw or bolt that I would have to order otherwise.  I am a huge advocate of people taking the time to figure out how your gun works. Take some quality time and mess around with the internals, take it apart and see how things work, reference some online mauals and schematics to see what the names of the parts are and what their function is. Since you are going to scrap the gun anyway why not use it to learn. As for sticking all that upgraded stuff on it, well the mp5 just is not a field rifle and trying to make it into one in my mind is just not right. We just do not play that much CQB and even in the case of something like irene you will be out ranged. If you rae looking to get a new gun or to upgrade a new gun, get an M4 variant or better yet use the parts that you ahve and build one from scratch and use only the best internals and ditch the mp5 or part it out. I loved the way my mp5 looked and felt but in this game it just is not practical.

Dude if it is TM gun there are so many things you can do to fix it and the parts are so plentiful do not sell it cheap if you are just going to buy another of the same. Take it apart and figure out what broke or is missing, then go to WGClub and order new parts or upgrade parts and repair it yourself. Most guns can become money pits but TM's are good to go.

It would be a good idea to take it appart. I have a TM MP5A4 HG. I took it appart there is alot to learn about it. And it is true that if you go to places like www.redwolfairsoft.com they have EVERY SINGLE PART for a TM MP5. I bought mine used and it is broken so I took it appart I usally don't like to take things appart but the MP5 was fun.

P.S. If you decide to take it appart becareful of the mecbox spring coming out when you pull the mecbox appart. (Mine allmost went flying but it got stuck on the side of the mecbox). :D

First off what is dead? In order to install a silencer on it, you will need a thread adapter. Are you sure the motor the motor is a  560? I know dumb question but I belive all MP5's had a EG700!!! In that case a EG700 is just perfect for that gun with modifications. Tight bore's.... I like systema BS 0.4'S but thats me!!! Other parts from what I know of you and your guns. Leave the Mauri piston. Install a systema silent head set. Spring systema m120.  Install Metal brushings or Radials. Gears systema  torque would be fine other wise G&G. Systema spring guide w/bearing ver II.

Most likly yes you may have to convert it over to the full stock. That if you want it to look realistic. Because, you can also rewire it to have it come out the back, and have a velcro pouch on the retractable stock. Or put a  Low Profile Mount on the top, and get a G&P PEQ-2 Unit replica that holds the battery, and rewire it to that. Those are the Three options!!!

You dont have a broken Gearbox do you?

The early model MP5's from TM had the 560.  I have one a freind gave me and it is a parts gun.  The gears in mine lock up, I tried new gears, with no luck, just ain't worth the money to fix.  That's why it is a parts gun.
