I was thinking once or twice a month a live Chat, So we can shoot the shit and Newbies can get questions answered abit quicker. Is there anyway to tell who and how many people are in Live chat

I think there needs to be a bit more organization if there are going to be newbies gettin a Q&A session. At the height of the chat there were like 4-5 different conversations going on and you could not tell who was directing answers at who. If you suppose a Q&A then assign some knowledgeable people to different rooms with the expressed order to answer specific types of questions, all set forth in a thread showcasing the upcoming chat like this, so niether room gets swamped and everyone gets their questions answered. I would be down to help out.

Examples:  

Gear area, AEG discussion, Gameplay Q&A, General Q&A etc...

Just tossing another idea into the mix...

Break up the discussions by day of the week.  For example:
Gear Discussion - Monday night
AEG Discussion- Wednesday night
Gameplay Discussion - Friday night

That way there is only one chat room going at any given time.

Also, whoever is the last person in the room, copy and paste the entire chat transcript into a new thread so members can reference it later.

Just a couple of  thoughts.

What do you guys think of the chat feature?  I've never had a chance to use it with anyone else... I always end up chatting alone...

We had 8-9 on last night. I like the chat system better on AZS better

I concur with gix- if we get the azshooting client setup, that would work great. It is a fast java irc client.

Organization for chats doesn't work. Nobody ever stays on topic, but if a new guy had a question, they could just join in the chat and ask. I don't know anyone that would object to getting it back on-topic once it gets away.
