10.8V battery... destructive?
« on: September 08, 2006, 08:09:47 AM »
i want to put this on a CA M15A4 RIS.

it has a 10.8V 3000 MAH NiMH in it i plan to use it with a systema high speed box.
***(high speed, NOT the M120 box)***
will a battery that big destroy my internals? stock or systema?

why?.... With a 9.6V 4000mAh the rate of fire is too high for the mag to keep up. I tried the whole high speed box with high speed motor and high voltage batt and though cool as it was for about a week the box self destructed. If you want a high volume of fire get a m249, if you have problems hitting people because you don't think you have enough plastic death in the air.... learn to aim.

I also think 10.8v with high speed gears is a bad idea. Your magazine won't feed fast enough.

I run an 8.4v on an EG700 with standard ratio gears.

That will add to much stress to the gear box.

i ran a 12v in my G&P m4 commando and it broke... a 10.8 is a little less but you gun is high speed, so use a 9.6..., my friend who uses the 10.8 has normal ratio gears...

my goal is to make the M4 i have now built for high poewr, and the CA ill soon have for rpm. this isnt a matter of wanting as much "plastic death" as i can get, but rather to have 2 poarized weapons in terms of function.

- Whatever floats your boat, man. There's ways of getting what you want for your gun, but the real question is, "is it worth it, if it'll only last so long?"

try it, but i have 9.6 3600 MAH battery pushing an M120 spring and that is sometimes too powerful for the mag to load on full auto , (but it loads perfically with short burst or semi auto.)

I'm running a 10.8 w/ an EG700, and my gearbox is fine.  Granted, everything is metal and soon to be replaced with top of the line internals.  I'm thinking about getting a custom 10.8v 4200mah battery made for it when it's done.  And pilz, you can just say my name instead of "my friend."

I am currently running a 10.8 3700 mah in my CA M15A4 CQB (in the crane stock) and also in my P90 and so far none of them have broke! This set up has been fine with me for the past year

I just got a 10.8v 4200mah NiMh battery.  If you do want to get that 10.8v, I'd HIGHLY recommend a MOSFET system if you can fit it in your gun.

Don't do it unless you like buying tons of ammo. If it doesn't break the gun and the magazine does feed, then you'll be wasting a ton of ammo. I had a 10.8 battery and high speed gears in my ICS M4, ran out of ammo in like 10 minutes and I had 2 high caps.
