Just change your avitar to a coughing doggie.  Sorry to hear about your asthma and the ELS though, hope they didn't send you home in baby blues.

I was in Fox Co. I got dropped a few days before going up north. Then a few weeks in MRP (medical rehab platoon) and a couple more in RSP (recruit separation platoon). Solitary- you ever go to the DI school on a working party in RSP?

I got sent home pretty fast from MRP since Asthma doesn't have much potential to get better, so in that sense I got lucky.

I didn't realise how much crazy **** happens at MCRD. Someone in my company in the cycle before mine ate a bullet from his rifle on the range. I got to personally stop one suicide attempt and a couple of UA attempts while on firewatch.  And a guy that I was in RSP with had fallen off the top of the stairway to heaven and hit a bunch of bars on the way down (that's a 45 foot ladder thing on the confidence course) and was clinically dead for a minute.

i was injured the first day of field week, week 9, then spent 5 fun filled weeks in MRP2, then 1 very long week in RSP. i never had a working party at the DI school although i knew some guys who did, some had it easy while other said it was a living hell. i had some great working parties, worked at Grandmas(she was awesome, kept givin us cookies), i helped set up the paintball field one day, another day i got to wash some vans a few golf carts and a hummer. well hey greg you should go to the game tomarrow at BT id love to talk to you about boot.

Hey Greg, sorry to hear that you wont be able to join the Marines like you wanted.  I have asthma too, I think alot of us airsofters do lol. With the right meds, asthma doesnt have to be a factor, but it still eliminates us. But I for sure glad that we have gained back one of our fellow airsofters :) Welcome Back!

Solitary- yes I do. I started singing cadence when I was walking with my girlfriend to see what she would do/say..
I got pretty good at calling cadence since I was in MRP and RSP and didn't mind doing it when we had to walk somewhere. Everyone else is always afraid of doing it but I think it's fun.

I also tried to do some rifle manual with my airsoft M4- didn't work too well- that thing really IS a carbine. I can't even put the stock on the deck at order arms without bending over.

Hello everyone.. I just got booted out of boot camp last week. While I was in the middle of training, I got diagnosed with asthma... how great is that?!

I think that makes me at least the second AA member to be ELS'ed (Entry Level Separation) from the good old USMC.

So anyway- I will start playing airsoft again soon.. at least I got paid for my training and can therefore buy more airsoft stuff. Unfortunately, I fell even more in love with the new Marine Corps cammies and will now have to buy a full set of authentic MARPAT deserts and woodlands.. oh, and the boots too. I really like the combat boots.

I haven't been set back too badly though; I already started the application process with the Maricopa Sheriff's Office to get a job as a Detention Officer until I turn 21 when I can become a sworn cop.
