Skoal Valley out in Wittmen in west valley AZ might be a good spot to check out. This is where I go for coyote hunting all the time, and have allways thought of doing a airsoft game there but never got aroud to it. Never seen anyone else out there except a few cows running around and maybe a donkey or two here and there. Theres a dryed up wash with lots of tree cover, big rocks, ect. the actual mining shafts it self are way up in the hills but iv came accross a few different holes in the ground and other things out in the desert. You can clearly tell it was a old mining/diging site for something. its actually sorta creepy but might be a cool place to check out.
I know of a Skull Valley out near Prescott, but not a Skoal Valley. Where is that, exactly?

Its far west. Take the 60 west and keep on going. Ill try to find the exact cordinents of the location and put them up for those who are interested. Im also going out wednesday morning, ill can take some pics and ill put them up in another thred so im not blowing up this guys thred.
I'm already out in the Wittmann area, and there's some pretty terrifying areas out here. I'm just hoping it's not too close to Whispering Ranch. Venturing into there WILL get you shot at. It's not an "if", it's a "when". They don't even get most emergency services any more.
May I ask why? and Whispering Ranch sounds pretty fucking scary.
Why I'm out here? I live out this way. A little past Wittmann, but still pretty close.

Basically I'm just worried this place is too close to Whispering Ranch and we'll all get gunned down by crazed rednecks and/or cartel enforcers who think we're actual military with real rifles.
The why was why we'd get shot, but you basically answered that.

If you're so worried, why not get one of these? http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/spo/3070087986.html
LOL JK, really though we would have to scout the area first before setting up a match there, just like I'm sure was done with all the fields that we use that are not privately owned.  But as Fresnel said, he goes out there all the time, and I'm sure he has the sense not to go back if he'd have started to receive incoming rounds at some point.

Im not sure where whispering ranch is. But I am out at this spot many times during a single month, sometimes 2-3 times a week. Iv never taken incoming rounds from anybody else, like i said in my previous post I have never seen anyone else out there besides a few cows and a couple donkeys. But I assure you if I ever did come accross "a crazy redneck" it would be one hell of a firefight considering the firepower myself and my hunting partner are carying at any givin moment while we are out there lol

as for the scouting, I have done alot of scouting out there. There isnt anything that really needs to be worried about. Just watch where you are going and where youre putting your feet just as Katana said in his previous post. I have run into a few holes in the ground where you can clearly tell this place was once a old mining/diging site, But those are pretty far off into the desert. If a game was setup here it would be very easy to set bounderies in the flat lands.

Okay really guys. You don't have to quote the entire conversation. Seriously. I know birdman is new, but Fresnel and Katana0 I expect better from you two.  :) lol

Well, you know better than I. Again, I can't find any sort of information on a "skoal valley", so it could be anywhere as far as I know. Any chance you could give a Google Maps link or something?

Personally, I've never been there, but I work with a lot of emergency services personnel, some of whom have worked that district, and several of whom have taken fire in the performance of their duties.

EDIT: Also, in case you're wondering, here's Whispering Ranch:

It's just how the quotes work. I'm used to them self-limiting to two or three tiers on other forums. I'll make an effort to keep tabs on that that in the future.

I'm mostly just messin with you, but it does make for a cleaner conversation.  :P

Whispering ranch looks like a huge section of plain old desert haha. Kinda looks like the area north of Fountain Hills I play at sometimes.

LOL I've got a PASGT vest too, although I've only worn it to a couple of matches because I was feeling crazy that day.  I'm after an Interceptor now to complete my rig (then I'll have a set of field protective gear from Vietnam and the latest conflict in Afghanistan/Iraq.  All I'll need is a PASGT helmet, and I'll have one from the Gulf War too!)

Back on topic, I actually started this search looking for a place that is a little more urban than what you averagely see out here in AZ.  I have a pretty fledgling team I'm attempting to start, and I'm hoping that when we grow a bit we'll be able to host actual milsim games, so I'm hoping to find some interesting locations to do so.  Doesnt all have to be urban, I like anywhere that is more interesting than the flat land with little bushes and trees scattered about that you normally see out here.  I just figured I'd start my search there lol
