magpul pts masada trigger issue
« on: January 25, 2013, 11:46:54 PM »
I have searched the forums and found mother so here it is. I want to know if any one knows how to fix the trigger issues with this gun.
What it is doing:
Sometimes the trigger can't fully push the arm off the micro switch or just click past it. Also I dont know if this is a issue or just is that way, wont do anything unless the selector is in one of the two sweet spots (semi-full auto) but safe still works.
Things I have done to fix it (but didnt work):
replace springs with slightly stronger ones
Add jb weld to the arm on the trigger to help hit the arm
Superglue components down so they dont move out of place

If anyone knows how to fix this please help me out so I can use my gun. Or if you can give me a direct link to a website that has the replacement part that would help as well.

Thank you for your time.

As far as "wont do anything unless the selector is in one of the two sweet spots (semi-full auto) but safe still works." goes, you probably don't have the gear on the selector matched up with the gear on the gearbox right. It's been a while since I took mine apart, but I think you have to put the selector in safe when you insert the gearbox?

As for the micro switch issue, need more info. Try explaining what it's doing a little better.
Remember, there is the Trigger, trigger box, and micro switch.  Use those terms when explaining.

ok thank u for the terms I didnt know what to call them exactly. The gears for the selector I know have to be lined up just right I just didnt understand why it only shot in the two positions. What would make sense it that anywhere out of save would be full auto besides when im semi. Not just the two very small spots it likes. As for the trigger issue the trigger is in contact with the trigger box but when u pull the trigger either it dose nothing or the arm that is pushed by the trigger just jumps over the trigger if that makes sense. I will be trying to upload some pics to point out all the parts and try to fix some misunderstanding for future use.

The full auto thing is definitely caused by the gears not being lined up.

The trigger box arm jumping over the trigger, I would say the spring that goes from the trigger box to the post on the inside of the gearbox is too strong.

Used a weaker spring still no good results. I am now starting to believe the parts are just worn out. So now if anyone knows where to get the replacement parts that would be great. I have already tryed searching for magpul pts masada trigger parts and variations of that so I dont know if that type of trigger is in any other gun.

Almost all ARES guns use that trigger mechanism. The PTS Masada is built by ARES.
