IT was "ok". But its a little boring because its a drama more about everything in his life and doesnt really focus on the firefighting perspective.

Yeah, but will it live up to that one from back in the 70s?  (Cough, cough).  Dang, can't think of the name of it.

I didnt get to see this one. I watched reno 911 last night, but i do like the other series on fx like the shield and some other one that i forgot the name of. Busta said it didnt focus of firefighting, but is it gonna stay that way or will it be more action oriented?

Who knows. I just dont like the whole 'Lets just focus on FDNY'. There are tons of other Departments that deserve just as much attention. Hopefully it will focus more on the fire fighting than the personal life. Either way, the first episode was great, but before and after was nothing but ass kissing Miller.

its been totaly advertised as drama... if you were expecting anything else then ... well... sorry.  The adds for it run all the time when im at the gym.  Ive seen Dennis Leary saying "I'm no hero" like a thousand times.  Blah.  But it does look better than that new firefighting movie they got comin out...  Ladder 59 or somethin.  Backdraft was damn good though, drama or no drama.

Ladder 49 looks pretty good. Once again, I'm pretty sure its FDNY. I could be wrong though. Backdraft was a cool movie. I watched that movie just about every day as a kid. Ladder 49, from what I've heard, is about a fire fighter who is trapped in a building collapse, and looks back on his life.

One thing that annoys me is every movie and show about fire fighters shows them all smoking, all the time. I know for sure that Phoenix doesnt allow you to smoke at all. A lot of cliche. (Did I spell that right?)

well granted i dont know for sure what Ladder 49's full story is, im just going by the trailer i watched online.  It just seemd weak to me.  But lord knows trailers don't always do movies justice.

and yea im fairly sure its FDNY too.. film makers cashin in on the current noteriety (sp)... not that nobody knew who they were before 9-11, but still.

Dennis Leary is running the show on this one.  He lost 2 brothers on 9-11 and they were both FDNY, a lot of the story being told is autobiographical about his life.  You guys should research Dennis and find out why he is not just a funny comedian.  He is a man's man and very much like us.  Plus I like a lot of the work he has done, not all but a lot of it.  The first time he did the write it, produce it, then direct it while starring it gig (that's quadruple threat there people) was a movie called "The Ref."  If you haven't seen I highly recommend you do, they man is very talented!

Did anyone watch the first episode on FX at 10 last night? I thought it was pretty damn good, especially the end. You actually get a feel that they 'follow' him everywhere he goes.

For anyone who doesnt know what it is, its about the FDNY. It has Dennis Leary, and a few other guys. It looks like its going to be a pretty good show.
