Grenztruppen uniform help
« on: June 08, 2005, 11:22:16 PM »
If you have an intelligent comment, please post... otherwise don't.  Thank you.

I have an East German Grenztruppen uniform
(my eyes went crosseyed from the flash thats why they're blacked out).

I need help with insignia and what not to make it look better.  Where each thing goes, what I need to put on there, and any other information will help.  Thanks.

Very Nice looking(but turn the rifle around). You just need some medals, and you are good to go. Have you tried googgling it looking for german uniform manuals? I could tell you some U.S. Uniform regulations, and I bet you can get away with those. PM me if you want em, or look em up yourself.

Cool!
Are you planing to turn it into a WW2 era german unifrom, or do you plan to leave it east german and put all the soviet insignia on it?
Either way its still very impressive.
I found an east german border guard unfirom a while ago, and converted it into a wermacht officer uniform with a black collar, black hat band, and eagle on the visor. But Ive always liked the Grenztruppen uniforms, because they are that cool panzer green color with the silver trim.
And if you pin the sides of your visor down it will look even cooler, and you can wear headphones!

Oh, by the way, where did you find those boots?
Ive been looking all over trying to find those tall leather boots but had no luck

dude i had that uniform once i sold it to m79... there should be a green genztruppen band on the sleeve the collar boards should have green piping, and the shoulder boards should also be green. all oof these items are purchaseable at tridentmilitary.com (its a little shady) but they have the stuff i believe. i had the genztruppen field jacket with all the green but m79 decided to paint it black and make it ww2. i think the arm band is still green, mabey hell sell it to you.

vincent those boots are at sportsmansguide.com, ive showed them to you there before. there all leather black jackboots for like 10 bucks.

Actually, I got them online from a costume shop.  My friend showed them to me, and they're made to look like star wars boots.  I know jack about star wars other than all the bad dudes were based on the nazis... so the boots are nazi replicas.
