Before I get started and risk myself to a handful of flames, I would like to state that I am in no way a gear whore or looking into spending hundreds of dollars in gear. I have heard that Infinity Tactical (As noobish at it may sound) is actually half decent.

Anyways,

http://www.airsoft128.com/xcart/catalog ... 33877.html

I have heard that these prefitted mag compartments won't always fit a mag the size of an AK's.

Any info regarding this issue is apprecitaed.

Art(SilentDragon) owns one of those, and it doesn't hold the AK mags with the flaps closed(at least it appeared that way, Art will correct me if I'm wrong. Which I probably am). It will probably be a single mag per pouch, unfortunately.

Get a CIRAS. Ian just so happens to have one for sale.

I'll swear by mine. It took me 3 years to find something that worked for me, and that would be my lovely CIRAS.

He said he didn't wanna spend hundreds of dollars. This automatically puts him out of the running for mine. Although, he might want to invest in a replica. Thanks for trying though.

Fucking awesome chest rig if you're on a tight budget.  I've had one for a year and never had a problem once.

Yes they do fit AK mags, but the do stick out just enough where you cant put the flap down, but since there's an elastic band, the mags will stay put.

Also, I highly recommend getting the backpack for it, for 25 bucks you can't pass it up.

Ehh, I'm definitly not one for backpacks on the field.

I just sport a Camelbak and that's it.
I've tried a backpack once and found it too hard to manuever with.

As for everybody else, thankyou for the info and the lack of flames.
I will continue my search.

Edit:
What rig do you AK owners use??

I've heard Infinity Tactical makes decent rigs. UTG does make okay ones, as well.

I actually cut triangular notches into my drop-leg to fit two AK mags in each pouch. It worked very well. It's comfortable and a pretty good alternative if you don't want to spend a lot of money just to carry your mags around.

Although I am actually getting a chest rig within the next few months, the drop-leg served me well.

EDIT:

For AK owners I would suggest getting a Russian-made/designed-for vest. Example: http://www.redsoldier.com/index.asp?Pag ... tegory=314
All of them are made to carry AK mags and accessories because... well, duh, the AK's Russia's standard rifle. Although they're pricey at times, they're worth it.

I have one of the JT chest rigs, and screw whatever anybody says, that thing kicks ass.  I'm never gonna get rid of mine, the only reason I use something different now is I needed a  rig on which I could carry plenty of M14 mags.  I'll still use my JT one from time to time.

If you're looking for cheap and want a molle based rig, you could get a MAV from Tactical Tailor:

http://www.tacticaltailor.com/index.asp ... ProdID=126

Or go for an I-RACK or RACK from SDS:

http://secure.specialtydefense.com/cgi- ... op=eq.html

For pouches, I love TAG stuff.  And you're in luck, they have AK mag pouches:

I use a M25B and it works great. You can fit 2 AK mags in each pouch and there are 6. Also the new website for www.redsoldier.com is http://www.rscamogear.com/ but it will be back to the original name as soon as they get organized. They have nice things and ship fast. They only sell SPLAV gear and its great quality.

I was doing some browsing on some online surplus stores, and I came across this...

http://www.1starmy.com/viewproduct.asp?productno=3677

The mag pouches look plenty big to hold the Ak's.

What do you all think?

Here's another:

I have that second chest rig.  Its not exactly the strongest rig.  But it gets the job done.
Probably not the most comfortable either, but with the price I got it for, it works.

Would it hold AK mags?
