Marpat uniforms
« on: September 27, 2006, 02:13:42 PM »
First I know you can not get authentic marpat, but Tru spec makes a uniform close to it.

Does anyone know a good place to get any digital desert? I checked out www.hdesert.com and www.bdu.com but hdesert doesn’t carry 2XL long and bdu doesn’t carry tem at all. I have found some places, but they do not look very legit.

Thanks for any help

I did, but of course you already know that.  :P

Give SoldierCity a call, they might be able to score some for you.

You are just special like that Sinjin :p

Okay, so you can not get marpat from retail, just surplus if you come across it or bases :p

I'm trying to remember a site that sold surplus MARPAT, I can't quite remember the link. But you also might want to try eBay, although I can't say if you will be able to find all size ranges.

Just a word of warning, these will fade really fast.

How tall are you? I bought desert tru-spec marpat from HDesert and don't have a problem with the pants staying tucked into my boots, even while sitting.
I am 6'4"
The size I bought was large long.

if you want once issued digi camis go to a surplus store, and the real ones fade just as bad as the fake ones, i wasnt originally issued digis, i had the old school pats, when i did end up finally getting some they told to to wash them inside out to prevent fading.

dont tuck your camis into your boots! use rubber bands or if you want to get authentic buy boot bands, you dont want to look like a nasty squid do you?

Some dyes remain in the fabric longer if you first wash them in cold water with a cup of vinegear (sp?)....it works on some shirts.

I can't remember if the Surplus store has any "fake" ones down here.  I don't think so but I will ask my teammate (bones) who works there.

I am not that worried about getting issued or just some relica tru specs. What I am looking for though is a 2X long for the jacket.

I know that when I got mine a Larada's, that was the only one they had.  I bought it, but never wore it, because they are WAYYYY too big for me.  The sleeves go 6 inches past the tips of my fingers.

I usually get my BDUs from Larada's, but they have not carried the Marpat jackets for the past few months now.
