molle vest
« on: October 13, 2006, 12:10:21 AM »
Ran across this on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/MOLLE-Tactical-Vest ... dZViewItem

Don't MOLLE vests usually go for considerably more? Is this just a cheap knock-off? They say it is "Mil-spec," does that mean anything with regard to the manufacture of the vest?

Thanks for your help guys.

Just because they say it is "mil-spec" that dosent mean anything.
It looks like this vest but black and the older style:

Dont but blackhawk, and dont buy black gear (it sucks in the outdoor games we play and has zero resale value).

"Mil-spec" holds about as much weight as labeling something "tactical." It's just jargon used to make it sound more impressive. It'd be just like saying my spring powered m4 is a "mil-spec tactical force-on-forcing training device."

Cheap gear like this doesn't hold up very long and isn't worth the money. PLEASE try to stay away from black, you'll be happier in the long run. :)

Okay, thanks guys, figured it had to be crap for the price :)

Hm, I can't really afford to pony up for a decent MOLLE vest at the moment and I don't really have a good idea of what's going to be most comfortable for me. I don't think I'll know for sure until I try something out in a game, but someone's been suggesting a chest rig to me, so I think I'm just going to go for an Infinity chest rig and see how it works out.
