I hear bad stories about Evike like that from people all the time, which is really pitiful. That said, here's my experience:
I have ordered from Evike more than 10 times, and the only problem I've ever had is them not updating quantities, and having to wait for a backorder. No matter how annoying that can be, I have always gotten the right items, they've responded to e-mails promptly, and I've even sent back defective items, and they replaced it for free, no questions asked. All in all, it's safe to say that I've had very positive experiences with them. I told this to a friend, and he replied "are we talking about the same Evike?" I'm pretty sure I'm one of the very few. I don't think it's that the company as a whole has the mindset to screw people over; I think maybe they just have some employees that are shifty cheats and some employees that are actually quite good... and I've just been really lucky and got the good people every time. Whenever I order from them, I keep my fingers crossed, and I usually just order the random parts that I can't find at another US retailer. All in all, they run a pretty successful business... SOMEONE's buying from them, right? Maybe the storefront keeps their heads above water?
ASGI is really good. My favorite is Poweredgeusa; they still sell Japanese airsoft for really good prices. Top notch service, and they really know their stuff. I wouldn't really suggest them if you're in the market for just about anything from HK/China.
