Cyma G18c (CM030)
« on: April 21, 2010, 08:58:46 PM »
So, I have a CM030.  I took it to a game last Saturday and tagged a guy with it, which made really happy.  I needed to recharge the battery on it that night, so I did not want to charge a half-discharged battery.  Went home, emptied a few clips and ran out of BBs.  I decided to go ahead and put the gun on fully auto and shoot it with the barrel muffled on a pillow to keep the air inside.  Halfway through, it started to make a (for lack of a better word) 'farting' sound.  It eventually stabilized and came through crisp and clear again.

Today, I loaded up my pistol to see if it was alright.
Now, it seems to skip every third or fourth BB.  It's not a big deal because it's a G18 with full auto capabilities, but:
Every third or fourth bb will not fire.  Instead, the next shot after that fires 2 bbs at once.  It then shoots fine for 2-3 shots, and then the same thing happens.  It does this in semi-auto and full-auto.

What is wrong and what can I do to fix it?
Please don't tell me to replace this gun.  I love this cheap little AEP.

EDIT 1: By the way, I just took some of it apart (as much as i needed to observe the spring), and the thing 'fires' just fine.  The hammer comes back and it makes that sharp cracking sound.

EDIT 2: I also observe that the first shot after the clip is inserted NEVER FIRES, but the second one ALWAYS fires.

DEVELOPEMENT: Doesn't seem to happen 'as much' (still when the mag is first inserted) if the gun is angled level or upward

Well I don't own this gun, though I'm looking to purchase it in the very near future. From what you're describing, it sounds like firing it into the pillow (which really was a bad idea, I must say), may have messed up the loading mechanism which chambers each round into the gun. Either that, or possibly the spring in the magazine. When you fired it into the pillow, what I imagine happening is each bb stacking up in the barrel, so when the barrel filled up and you fired another round, it somehow broke something either in the gun or the magazine that chambers each round. Again, this is all just speculation of course, as I do not yet own this gun so I can't say for sure, however I did take the difference in firing when the gun is level/pointed upward into account as well. Anyways, just thought some helpful insight might hopefully be of use to you. I'm excited to buy this gun and finally have a decent sidearm!

you have a problem with the feeding nozzle and/or whatever makes it move. It's sticking on something and not going all the way forward those times when it doesn't fire.... and then there are two bb's ready to fire on the next shot.

I was looking up some info on this gun, and I also came across another potentially useful piece of information. The guy reviewing said he loved the gun, but it did misfire every now and then. He said once he lubed up the magazine with silicon (possibly the inside of the gun a bit too), and slid the magazine in and out of the gun a bunch of times to loosen it up a bit, he never had another misfire. Try that maybe it will help.
