« on: February 08, 2012, 08:52:41 PM »
i know for sure im going to get one and can get the gearbox from evike, i just need to know where to pick up low pressure tanks/regulators and an air tank carrying bag...would this possibly fit in the backpack section of a tactical vest?

Two people so far on Team Phantom use them.

If your worried about the tank fitting, take your vest with you to a paintball shop and look at tanks there.

I'm surprised PolarStar hasn't integrated the tank into the stock like a paintball gun.

Aside from that, I'd love to try one. Guess I'll have to wait until they make an AK version!

Paradox and I have one.  We were the ones that used them at OP Sayaid.  I picked up my air rig from Amped Airsoft (I highly recommend them).  It's a condensed line that is 3' long.  It's a perfect length to run it out of a large pouch at my 4 o'clock position on my plate carrier, right next to my hydration pouch.  My tank is probably the cheapest you can get, 45ci 3000 psi... which gets you about 1400 shots @ 120psi.  There are larger tanks out there, it just depends how much you want to spend and carry on your person during a game.  I prefer to get a couple smaller ones I can switch out when I need as opposed to running a heavier and larger tank all day.

Tanks are too big to fit in the stock of a gun.  If you made a smaller tank that would fit in a stock, you'd be switching it out like a mag every couple hundred shots.

Only thing I can add to this is.

If you get a 6.01 barrel you will not need any nozzle over a black.  Otherwise you will be shooting over 375 with .25's

With that being said.  The FCU is very delicate. be very careful if you put it in the hand guard of your weapon. Polar stars customer service is great for questions as well.

Last thing. If you buy the Polar star (VFC made) complete kit. You will have to buy an adapter for the air on the gun to fit the air rig.
All said and done a polar star with two air tanks, & Air Rig will run you a little over $1100.

Polar start kit $625-725
Air rig $120 - 150
Air tank each 49.99 1400 shots @ 120PSI  &3.00 to refill HPA ONLY!! (Compressed air)
adapter from HomeDepot $4.00
Accessories like a new MOE Mad-bull hand-guard $40.00

I also recommend getting a 9v Duracell and wiring hardness for it and using that to power the FCU.

I second this.  My barrel is a 409mm 6.01 Madbull Black Python and my fusion engine is shooting 420fps @ 120psi with 0.25g out of the box (that's with the standard blue nozzle).  You might want to consider picking up a green nozzle ($15-18) if you intend on chronoing in as a non-DMR/Sniper with that sort of setup.  You could always back down your pressure to the minimum 80psi, but I haven't chrono'd mine at that setting so I don't know how much it drops.

Gotcha. That makes sense.

I've been very tempted to try this as well but the cost seems a little steep still. The more I read about it the more I think I want to build one.

I have a web site where you can get all that stuff. The fusion engine alone is 475.00 my friend did it to his gun. It is quiet as a whisper. I heard there were problems putting it into a kwa. Is that true?

According to Polar Star, it would fit in a KWA.
