The upper receivers on 416's are proprietary.  They've got a taller top rail and typically a notch cut in it to keep the RIS unit in place.

Okay, so if I found a 416 metal upper/lower would that be a legitimate swap? The thing is, I like my gun and really don't see a need to buy a whole new one for a DMR when this one with the extended barrel and mock suppressor already has perfect length.

SHOULD be.  That said, I don't have any experience with the JG/Echo1 receivers, so it may not be.

Looks like it's going to be a challenge, but I'm going to keep my eyes peeled. I've got three major distributors around the world all on an "alert by email" as soon as it may get back in stock. Fingers crossed...
