Tac Force vests are cheap and basically exact replicas of the BlackHawk vests. I'd go with one of those.

personaly id go with the second one you listed.  And if you cant find one in OD then id grab some Krylon paints from ACE and add coat of OD and what ever else you want.

AirsoftAtlanta has the TAC Force vests. I have and its doin fine untill I can pick up a modular rig. I would also suggest staying away from a black rig.  There is a reason that black isnt used on issue gear, or approved for camoflauge facepaint(at least in the army), it doesnt appear in nature and is therefore EASILY spotted, even at night. I purchased the TAC Force commando in tan and then dusted it with OD Krylon and the color blends perfecly w/ DCUs (desert camo) and regular woodland patterns. Rick

Just buy the OD Krylon, hold the can a good distance away and spray lightly untill you get the desired color. You can lay something across it (like newspaper or something) in strips to get a more camo pattern type appearance. Rick

but what happens when you take a spill in some mud and you want to wash the vest, or at least whipe it down with something wet.

The krylon is on there pretty well. Plus if you wash it you still have the remaining 99% of the spraypaint can left to do it again. Although I have never had a situation where I have needed to wash a vest tho...the dirt just helps w/ the camo

I know a guy here in Tucson who had a S.O. Tech Delta Rifleman's Vest, OD in color, for sale here in Tucson:

He's only used it a couple of times.  It's pretty sweet.  You can use one of the mag pouches for your side arm.

figures.  plus, i wasn't going to be able to shell out 100 bucks.  If anyone has one they are selling (i've received your PM's Firehead), let me know!  I don't want to break 50 bucks for a used vest though, and don't try and milk me for more than it's worth/cost you.  heheh.

If you're that limited right now, why not pick up a used LBV on Ebay? If you're patient, they can be had for $20. On top of that, they're better built than those knock off vests. I don't like to buy stuff from Ebay sellers who can't spell their own name. I doubt that guy meant to call himself Airsoft Dargon.

Upon reflection, it does have a catchy ring to it, and it isn't as posuer-ish as Dragon would be...

I agree.  Be real careful what you buy on ebay.  There's essentially no quality control.  Not to mention that generally you get what you paid for.  Buy a $30.- tac vest and you get a vest that's worth about $30.- as far as durability and quality goes.  There's a reason the name-brand stuff is pricey...it's designed to hold together when you yank on the mag pouch covers, or throw yourself on your belly when someone opens up on you.  If you're really strapped, bet one of the basic chest rigs by Tactical Tailor.  They hold eight M16 mags, will accept MP5 mags, and are priced under $100.- for the most part.

Then start saving your pennies for a Blackhawk or Eagle One rifleman's vest :-)
