Yes the photgraphic evidance is fairly clear, sadly[V] This young Marine was scared of having hisself hurt by a "wounded" and booby trapped Insurgant so he shot him. This is most Deffenantly against the ROE We are given here, and he will pay the price. Do I blame him??? No I would prolly have felt (I would hope, not acted) the same way, the insurgants are useing our ROE and our "beliefs" against us, but we don't make things better by sinking to their level. What he did was wrong, and as such he shouldn't be placed back with his unit until after he is tried and either convicted or released, we have procedures and laws for a reason, and UCMJ will give him a fair and impartial trial by his peers.
What I do disagree with was the reporters release of the footage which has caused widespread anger towards the USA from the actions of a single marine. [V]

Yes, Ken. It would appear that we are somewhat in agreement on this one. Some peope seem to be under the mistaken impression that it is the job of the mop-up crew to kill unarmed wounded semi-conscious combatants. In addition to being against our current rules of engagement, it is also against the rules of the Geneva Convention and considered to be an international war crime.
But of course, if we were concerned about the Geneva Convention, even our own Constitution, our current President and a large chunk of the Senate and House of Representatives would now be behind bars. Heheh.
Barbarians at the gate? Hell, they're steering our ship!
