Unhhhh...no.  That item does not actually exist as far as I know.  Therefore the Spec Ops/Mil Sim crowd, who are normally pretty realism-oriented, wouldn't buy it.  My guess would be the Hollywood/John Woo/Anime action flick crowd, who are too tied up with "Looks killer cool, dude!" to realize that it just adds another piece of junk to carry, inspead of combining the launcher and rifle the way they're supposed to be.

Thanks Raith, i couldnt find the pics myself. That weapon is a modular dealie. There is a shotgun piece, and an SMG peice that were also designed to be attached to this device(along with the obvious grenade launcher).

Oh, well...I guess I'm not as current on developments as I used to be.

I suppose the stand-alone feature would be useful for law-enforcement units like riot squads who are looking for a way to launch less-lethal 40mm loads that's more modern (and reliable) than surplus M79 launchers, but for the military user I simply don't see the point.

Well the key part is that stand-alone can be also equipped with a M870 Masterkey for door breaching. It works on 2 different levels.

Masterkey Standalone has been around a few years, just not in the mainstream, came out the same time the remmy was mounted under the ARs
