Tactical Taylor one piece MAV and..
« on: April 26, 2005, 05:27:56 PM »
I was wondering if the Tactical Taylor one piece mav, the bib and X harness will all fit on the same rig. Does anyone know?

Yes, that is the set up that I have. But I have the S.O. Tech bib that I did a few modifications to the 1 pice MAV to make it work. Right after I got the bib tactical taylor came out with their bib and it has 8 pals webbing units across the front instead of 7. I was not too impressed with the TT bib though I do not like the way it plugs into the xharness and MAV, i converted my MAV with triglides instead of fastex buckles because it cuts down on the thickness of the rig. The X harness really makes a difference and is super comfortable. I wish you would have asked this at the game last week I would have let you try it out. The only downside to it versus a helcat is that you must put your own mag pouches on it and that can get expensive. Basically the xharness adapt to the fastex bucles from the mav and then the fastex from the xharness insert on the bib and then the bib attaches to the MAV. Here are some links, though they do not show the full xharness-Bib-MAV but you get the idea (look at the larger photos):

The TT bib is gay.

Do what David did.

OR, you an get an SOTech panel (like a MAV, but better since it's SOTech) and throw a bib on that.  Like a RACK, but better and cheaper.

I don't know if the TT Bib will work well with the TT X Harness.  It might, but I'd be willing to bet you'd have to have a longer than usual torso (Or just wear the rig lower than normal) to make it work well.
