although it would be cool to have a good gear supplier in AZ that had a storefront.

Most of you are too cheap to pay the prices that local online dealers have, let alone having to pay the prices an actual storefront would need to charge to make their rent.

Also, the HSGI UMMP works for M14 mags, and can hold 4 mags (2 in each side).

I find it interesting that the NRA is sending out alerts on this bill, considering they had nothing to do with its introduction or passage through the legislature.  Nevertheless, I am glad they are using their formidable email list to help promote this bill.

The people behind it are

FYI, there will be a July 4th Independence Day Rifle Match at Rio Salado Gun Club.  Match coordinator/main sponsor is Cavalry Arms, and I and other local (and national) gear companies are donating prizes.

Socks -
Thorlo Combat Boot Sock

These socks are the best I've found, though I've not looked very hard for socks. :P  Nice and thick where it seems to matter, they've not given me a problem.  They're expensive for socks, but I've had the same ones for a long time now.

That's what that smell is.  Perhaps we can take up a collection so you can get a second pair of socks. :D

As for the SWMS gloves, I am a camelbak dealer.  If anyone is SERIOUS about wanting some, I will gladly make inquiry into pricing and availability.  You won't pay retail, but I can't guarantee you a price at this juncture.

Finally, nice list and comments...where did you purchase the socks?

If I find some time, I'll try and stop by with a truck full of used goodness.  I have a lot of older gear that I took to T&E that I no longer use.

Some of it's Cool Guy Shit, some of it is Old Skool Deuce gear.  Anyone looking for some USGI Y-harnesses and such, I've got a crapload that are in OK-reasonable condition I'll sell cheap.

I will have some "new" gear that is on closeout...what that means is "no I don't have it in another color" and "no, you can't return it if it doesn't work for you".  :D

You're kidding, right?

This isn't cheap Chinese knock-off gear...these have been used by real military guys for a long time.  If a BB breaks your buckle, I'll personally make sure it gets fixed or replaced by calling HSGI myself.

Of course, I'll have to rib him for having a product that was brought down by a 6mm death ray....

The A-10/EPHOD is more of a Load Bearing Harness (like the old ALICE system) than a the Recon, which is an assault vest.

The Recon covers a lot more of the body since it has many more pockets and pouches than the EPHOD.  Generally, the EPHOD had been issued to general riflemen/infantry, whereas the Recon was originally issued to more of the specialized units like the Golani brigage.

The Recon vest was designed so that a soldier could be out in the field for about 48 hours w/o worrying about resupply or having to carry extra backpacks, etc., that it would carry everything they'd need for such a mission.  The A-10/EPHOD is merely an LBE harness.

The company I deal with is no longer making the A-10/EPHOD (unless I order like 500 of them...hahahaha).  The Recon (and derivatives like the Medic, M203 and SAW Gunner's vests) are the main products.   Additionally, more body-armor-based vests are being issued (like that second picture of yours).

What are you trying to figure out?

Actually, the more I look at the first pics you posted, the more it looks like an EPHOD/A-10 vest.  The pouch is much more square than the IDF standard grenade pouch, and you can see the padded shoulder strap/harness.  Additionally, because there is no material in the front portion of her coat, it's not likely a Recon vest, unless it's worn "open"...but then you'd still be able to see the upper portion of it.

EPHOD.

It's not the same thing in both those pictures.  The one in your most recent message is a body-armor-based vest...you can easily see the armored shoulders and collar.

In your first picture, there is no armor visible, and if you look at her left shoulder, you will see much much thinner material and a small grenade pocket.  This is very much in keeping with the Recon vest and the EPHOD (though that would be a compass pouch and is slightly different).

That said, the armor vest you're looking for a) isn't readily available and b) would be easily $500-$800 even if I could get them from the manufacturer.

They are Recon vests, likely the older style which isn't quite as overbuilt as the new style and doesn't have adjustable shoulders.

That is a crappy picture, however, and you really can't tell what she's wearing...I am going off the grenade pocket on her left side.  She's wearing it over her coat.

Finally, I only carry them in OD.

It goes on like a vest.  Open in the front.

For what it's worth, I FINALLY got my order in from Israel.  The newest version has a full-length slot-pocket in the back that will hold a Camelbak.

Of course, by ordering a knock-off of MultiCam you are encouraging, and rewarding, the pirating of intellectual property.

Crye Precision spent a LOT of money developing the MultiCam pattern for the military trials.  I understand that their products cost a lot.

Just know that when you buy these, from China, you are hurting an American company.

At the pic that says, (SOTech Callahan. Basically a plate carrier with a Hellcat mated to it. Paraclete pouches.) Were would i be able to get somthing to start out like that and build up with it like buying pouches.

Like to buy a vest like that

Soory for my dislexia

Tim at www.practicaltactical.net should be able to get you what you'd like.  He's "TimW" on these forums.

I certainly can help.  Be aware that, at the moment, SOTech is runnign about 12 weeks out.  I have 1 Hellcat left in Khaki/Coyote, and that's it.  I've been waitin on Falcons since October....
