AEG's / ICS MP5 SD5 problem
« on: January 10, 2004, 01:02:08 PM »
I just bought this gun over the holidays and this is the first ICS product I've owned. I'm used to the TM products so I kinda need some help here before I just go and take this gun apart. The problem is this- When I fire the gun, the spring won't complete its full cycle. It compresses back, and then just stays in that position. It doesn't extend after compressing. So my gun just jams up like that with the spring compressed and it won't fire. Is the battery maybe not powerful enough? I know that since it is an ICS, it came upgraded but the battery they sent me is an 8.4v 1800mah. Should I go with the 9.6? Let me know. Thanks.

General Airsoft Discussion / Having trouble with scope on my APS
« on: July 28, 2003, 07:25:56 PM »
Allright, so I bought a brand new APS2-SV and it works perfectly. I zeroed the scope for .36 bbs and everthing was going great. Just today I installed a new 200% spring with necessary reinforcements. So I went outside to re-zero my scope with .36 bbs because of course my gun was shooting faster and farther. After 100 bbs, (this makes me very aggravated) I still haven't succesfully zeroed the scope. I'm using an Ncstar 3-9x40 with high scope rings and the normal scope mount that comes with the APS2-SV. I have maxed out both the elevation and windage adjustment dials to their extremes and the bb is still shooting about a foot up and to the left of the crosshair's center. Yes I know which way to turn the dials to adjust the bbs flight path and I know to set my gun up in a clamp so that it doesn't move after each shot so that I accurately zero the scope. Since I can't adjust the dials on the scope any farther to get the bb to land directly on the center crosshairs, are there any suggestions to maybe adjust the entire scope so that it lines up correctly? Its close to the crosshairs but not close enough to be accurate. If I could only move the dials a little more, it would line up. But I can't.

Accessories & Gear / Sansei airsoft mask: ok or not?
« on: July 04, 2003, 10:12:04 PM »
Now I read that you need ANSI Z87.1 rated sealed goggles to play in AA games. What about those sansei airsoft masks? They have a mesh screen on the goggle part so that you don't have to worry about your vision fogging up. Will the sansei airsoft mask be ok? Thanks.

Spring Power!! / Question for Paco or any other APS2-SV owners
« on: July 02, 2003, 02:23:31 PM »
Hey, I'm buying an APS2-SV and I might need to end up upgrading it myself instead of the provider. I've read that the PDI 200% spring should be hard enough for good range and weak enough to stay under 500 FPS. And I also know that I'll need to buy a few internal parts to keep my gun in working condition after I put the spring in. What do I NEED to support a PDI 200% spring in my APS2-SV? I personally read that all I basically need is a 9mm metal spring guide and a new piston set. Is this true? What do they mean piston set? Just a new Strong Vacuum piston? Thanks.

since my G3 "package" and items are most likley not going to get all sold in these forums, I was just wondering about what most people do about shipping their airsoft guns around the U.S. after they've sold them. I know some of you guys use ebay and stuff. Do you just ship with the original box? I'm just trying to imagine myself having the guts to walk into a UPS store with a big gun and accessories to ask if they can box it all up and ship it. Are there any special restrictions? Any feedback will be extremely helpful. Thanks.

General Airsoft Discussion / Question for sniper rifle owners
« on: June 18, 2003, 12:14:24 PM »
I am buying a new Maruzen APS2-SV to start sniping with. Of course I'd like to upgrade it for max performance eventually. But for now I would just like to increase power. I have read that a First Factory 170  spring or a PDI 200% spring will get my gun shooting at just under 500FPS with .20 bbs. I don't want to be shooting too hard for AA which means I need to keep it under 500FPS. What are the opinions out there? Anyone sniping currently? I know PACO owns a few rifles. What spring shoudl I get? Thanks.

AEG's / G3A3 sniper rifle
« on: June 10, 2003, 11:29:39 PM »
OK. So I own an upgraded TM G3A3. Supposedly to 400 FPS. I put a TN PSG-1 barrel into it. Stuck a scope on top of it. I'm also looking for some cheap PSG-1 mags so that it's easier to use when sniping. I figure so far that it's a decent electric sniper rifle. I don't want to show up and find that I can't play because it shoots too hard and that it's full- auto. What do I have to do to make it ONLY semi-auto so that I can play with it at an AA game. Thanks.

AEG's / battteries and the TM Famas
« on: June 05, 2003, 01:24:11 PM »
I happen to be planning on purchasing a TM Famas SV later this month and I have a question about batteries. I own a few 8.4v 1700mah nicd batteries for my upgraded TM G3A3 and I wanted to know if these are ok to use in a stock Famas. I have witnessed the increased ROF in an M4A1 between 600mah and 1500mah. Will this increase of mah be too much for the gears in the Famas or not? Will the ROF even change? Thanks.

Gas Powered Guns / KWC 1911-A1 gas blowback
« on: June 03, 2003, 03:34:09 PM »
I have another gas pistol question. I want to buy a new gas blowback but I don't want it to be too powerful for CQB. But I still need a decent gun. From what I've heard, the KWC 1911-A1 gas blowback is just fine. But supposedly it shoots harder than 300 FPS. Is this just bull from sites that want me to buy their product or does it really shoot that hard? Thanks.

Accessories & Gear / Mini Electric P.O.S.
« on: May 31, 2003, 12:28:35 AM »
I'm planning on going to the next AA CQB game and I'm just loading up on pistols and such. I happen to own a UHC mini electric MP5. Has anyone fiddled with these things to see if they can increase performance? I know not power but ROF? Can I hook up different batteries or something? Maybe?
Thanks

« on: May 30, 2003, 12:01:33 PM »
I have a TM G3A3 and I want to fit a PSG-1 stock onto it. (replace the thingy that holds the battery on the G3A3 with a PSG-1 battery holderer) I know it will fit but where can I find just the PSG-1 stock to buy seperately so I can just stick it on my G3A3 myself? Any websites?
Thanks

Gas Powered Guns / KWC 1911-A1 blowback
« on: May 27, 2003, 01:10:46 PM »
I think i've found a decent sidearm for a good price and I think I might buy it. $130 is my limit, and this is only around $80 so this would be right in my price range. Is the KWC 1911-A1 blowback worth it? Now remember I know there is better out there for $180 to $300 but I'm not looking to pay that much yet.(pic below)

« on: May 22, 2003, 02:36:26 PM »
Im looking for a trusty sidearm in case i ever get my aeg to jam or something and i was wondering what the gen. opinion was on gas pistols. Is the non blowback superkiller any good? I also found a 92F blowback on www.a1airsoft.com for only $50. Are these pistols worth it or not? I figured somebody might know something about them. Thanks.

Accessories & Gear / ghillie suits
« on: May 14, 2003, 11:26:32 PM »
Just wondering. Are the ghillie suits worth bringing out ot the field? I noticed in AA pics that some of you use them. Are they pretty effective in the larger games? I know its up to the player on how to use it and this influences the effectiveness. But is it really worth it or not?
