With summer in full swing, I'm starting up my night game series. This game is the first in a series of dusk-to-night games which will be held at Sudden Impact.

Bring your night-vision, your tracer units, and your glowsticks, and let's have some good games in the dark!

SITREP:
There is a canister of biological agents being held in storage awaiting delivery to a makeshift weapons plant in Notitsislan. The Kheek men in posession of this canister are awaiting arrival of their chemical delivery specialist so they can assemble a makeshift biological weapon to deploy against the non-indigenous Knurds in the area. Arrival of the weapons specialist is imminent.

YOUR JOB:

UN Forces: Due to political instability in the area, the drop-off window only just opened. You must infiltrate the compund, eliminate resistance and capture either the canister or the weapon specialist. Further intel available en route.

Kheeks: The weapons specialist is due to arrive any minute. You must keep the compound secure until the arrival of the weapons specialist. There are reports of UN Forces en route to your location, so LOOK SHARP!

Local Games Listing/RSVP / Operation Terror Shade, Oct 28th
« on: June 02, 2006, 11:05:18 PM »
Please note, I am not continuing the Innoculation series this year. It's time for something new and exciting, and in that spirit I give you Operation Terror Shade.

Team OPFOR, a part of TAC, is proud to present Operation: Terror Shade!

WHAT: Operation Terror Shade
WHEN: Saturday, October 28th 2006 from 1pm to 1am
WHERE: Sudden Impact, Marana AZ
WHO: YOU!

A 12-hour day-to-night operation, with moving bases, mobile respawning, and a brand-new style of gameplay that is now 4 months in the making. The main point is to keep the gaming fast-paced, intense, and ongoing. The game will start in the afternoon, and rage right on into the night.

Bomb disarmament, GPS Tracking, and more will be part of this operation (objectives may vary depending on which team you're on).

Bonus rounds: Compete in the single-elimination pistol ladder for a chance to win prizes, participate in the raffle to win some more equipment, or throw your hat in the ring for the $10 buy-in, winner-takes-all AEG shootout.

Please keep your eyes on this spot for updates as they happen. As we get into August I'll begin explaining the new gameplay style so we can all be clear on the parameters.

(Are we allowed to post sponsors of a game? Or would that violate some rules?)

I think that perfectly explains my rationale that age doesn't matter (14 or above), maturity is really what to look for.

AEG's / MG36? Comments welcome!
« on: March 23, 2006, 10:39:22 PM »
So I've given up the idea of having a rapid-fire M4.

Trying to get together a parts list for a rapid-fire G36, here's what I have so far:

TM G36C
http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/p ... odID=10421

G36K Kit
http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/p ... odID=14661

Systema Hi-Speed gears
http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/p ... rodID=8465

Systema short Torque-up motor
http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/p ... rodID=8558

Those are what I thought I would start out with, however under previous (unheeded) advisement from a lot of the AEG mechanics on this forum, I've added the following:

HurricanE N-B CYlinder Enhancement kit
http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/p ... odID=18644

Systema M100 spring
http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/p ... rodID=8626

Systema Spring guide with bearing
http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/p ... rodID=8619

And powering the whole thing, a large-type 9.6V 3800mAh battery, probably custom-made.

AEG's / So I just DOA'd my gearbox....
« on: March 19, 2006, 05:27:57 PM »
Had some trouble with my gearbox in my CA M15A4 yesterday, so I tore it down today and broke open the gearbox to see what was wrong. I wasn't really prepared to see what I saw.

A little history on this gearbox..I believe it is cursed. Ever since about a month after I got it, it has been giving me problems. A little here, a little there, but over the course of time I have easily put 300 dollars of replacement parts into this gearbox. The last 3 games I've been to, the gun didn't make it even 30 minutes into the game before crapping out on me. I blame my penchant for upgrading shit in my gearbox for the problems I have experienced.

So, rather than spend another 120 bucks getting an aluminum piston, silent head kit, tappet plate, and cylinder I decided to spend the 204 and get a systema drop-in high speed gearbox.

Here's some pictures, click them for the full-sized version.

Cylinder (with scoring inside and the o-ring being stuck inside it)

Bits of the cylinder head (that *shattered*)

More bits of plastic everywhere

The screw that held the piston head on

The rest of the gearbox seems fine, I guess I'll save the parts in case I need some in the future.

Just a few of the 139 (139?!??!) photos I snapped:

The whole set is available on the TAC website photo gallery at:

Images are still uploading, about 1/3 done so far. After they're done uploading I'll jump in there and rotate the photos that need rotating (for the tall shots of people).

General Off-Topic Discussion / Chicken of the sea...
« on: February 01, 2006, 03:58:57 PM »
Announcer: Hey, Jessica - great concert!

Jessica Simpson: [ toweling off ] Thanks!

Announcer: Looks like you worked up quite an appeite out there!

Jessica Simpson: Did.. I.. ever! That's why, after every show, I reach for a can of Chicken of the Sea brand tuna! [ holds up can ] Everyone knows that Chicken of the Sea is tuna, but what you might not know is that tuna is fish, not chicken. So, look for the can with the mermaid on the label! Chicken of the Sea brand tuna - America's #1 non-chicken brand fish!

Announcer: But.. what if you wanted tuna that is chicken?

Jessica Simpson: [ confused ] Huh..?

Announcer: If you like Chicken of the Sea brand tuna, then you'll love new Tuna of the Dirt brand chicken!

[ the can is handed to Jessica ]

Jessica Simpson: [ examining the can ] Tuna of the.. Dirt..?

Announcer: Yep! Tuna of the Dirt is 100% top-grade tuna-free canned chicken!

Jessica Simpson: Hmm.. so, wait.. is it tuna or not?

Announcer: Oh, it's tuna alright - Tuna of the Dirt brand chicken! So, when you're sure you don't want fish, grab the only chicken good enough to be called tuna - Tuna of the Dirt brand chicken. Look for the chicken with the cowboy on the label!

Jessica Simpson: Wait! I'm confused! Why is a.. a cowboy on this chicken can holding a fish pole?

Announcer: Well, because he's fishing around for quality chicken! Tuna of the Dirt - the chicken with the fishing cowboy on the label. In the tuna section of your supermarket!

Jessica Simpson: This is so confusing! I think I'm just going to eat a piece of fruit.

Announcer: Then, you're in luck! Becuase if you're looking for fruit that's every bit as good as our chicken and tuna, then you'll want Turkey of the Jungle brand bananas!

[ the can is handed to Jessica ]

Jessica Simpson: Wait.. stop. Turkey of the Jungle?

Announcer: That's right. Turkey of the Jungle brand bananas. From the makers of Chicken of the Sea brand tuna, and Tuna of the Dirt brand chicken. If fish grew on treees, they'd be Turkey of the Jungle brand bananas!

Jessica Simpson: Thid is ha-ard!

Announcer: Nothing hard about it. Turkey of the Jungle brand bananas can be found in the chicken aisle, right next to Pork of the Orchard brand apples.

[ the can is handed to Jessica ]

Announcer: Pork of the Orchard brand apples. Look for the apples with the picture of a turkey on the can!

Jessica Simpson: [ greatly confused ] Uh.. uh.. so, if the apples.. have a turkey on the can.. then.. what does.. what does the can have with the bananas?

Announcer: Why, that would be the Turkey of the Jungle mascot - Porky, the Scubadiving Chicken! And Porky says:

[ Porky, a scubadiving chicken mascot, waddles up to Jessica ] Porky: [ singing ]
"If you want fruit, not fish nor fowl
Turkey of the Jungle makes this chicken howl!"
Owwwwwww! This turkey is good bananas!

[ Porky waddles off ]

Jessica Simpson: Please stop.. my head hurts..

Announcer: Ohhhh.. then, you need Chicken of the Medicine Cabinet - the turkey-flavored aspirin that comes in a tuna can.

[ the can is handed to Jessica ]

Jessica Simpson: No!

Announcer: Chicken of the Medicine Cabinet brand turkey-flavored aspirin. Look for the tuna can with the chicken can on the label!

[ Jessica appears exasperated, as the camera pans over to a table full of DynaCorp products ]

[ dissolve to phony product labels ]

Announcer: DynaCorp. Bringing you everything from Chicken of Sea brand tuna, to Shoepolish of the Outhouse brand typing paper. DynaCorp. The Kangaroo Rat of the Billiard Room.

[ fade ]

Troubleshooting / YAY! More CA M15A4 problems (piston snappage, repeated)
« on: December 17, 2005, 10:40:53 PM »
Okay, so my M4 is chewing up polycarb pistons. It keeps snapping the back tooth off the piston after about 500 rounds. So, my questions for you fine folks is:

Do I step down the upgrades (high-speed gear set (non-helical), prototype Systema motor (high speed Mk2 I believe it will be called when it is released)) or do I reinforce the top end of the gearbox with aluminum piston, cylinder head, reinforced cylinder....

Should I throw an M120 in? I am still using the stock spring so as not to put too much stress on things, but I fear it might be running a little too fast causing me more problems than it solves.

Of course, with an M120 in, it'll shoot a bit hotter than it is now, and that worries me, as it is shooting straight-up 300fps now....I figured since I was throwing out a ton of rounds per second I'd be courteous to my fellow players and keep the fps down so as not to hurt people. Naturally I could put a pinhole in the cylinder head to take down the FPS a bit (while still retaining the rate-of-fire decrease the M120 would give me...) and bring it down to 300fps again.

I'm just wondering if without the pinhole, figuring a mean average of 25rps, at 340-360fps, would be considered a prick-move by my fellow players. I'm out there to have fun, and I don't want to ruin anyone else's. Not to mention my conscience would kill me if I actually injured someone out there.

So, comments/suggestionss/anecdotes?
