Local Games Listing/RSVP / Re: ***OPERATION: RED HAND*** March 7, 2009

The Tonto Basin Ranger District is not the correct ranger district to speak with regarding airsoft unless you are playing on the North side of 4 Peaks.  Which would require about a 45 minute drive up the 143 road, or driving to Roosevelt Lake basin area.  Susan works the front desk at Roosevelt Lake.  Are you planning to carpool to Roosevelt Lake?  Mesa Ranger District is in charge of the area on the south side of 4 peaks.

I don't know who is organizing this game, but I PM'd the info from our Tonto National Forest Website which has a PDF file clearly showing the areas which are legal.   The area just past the OHV area on the 4 peaks road is also illegal if you look at the map link on the TNF website, all the way fromthe south side of FDR 143 Four Peaks to Cottonwood wash.

My son and I had a blast on Saturday with everybody that showed up.  Thanks to all the Phantom Guys for making us work for every inch of space, and the young kids for hanging in there.  Special props to Elliot for getting the games organized and keeping things moving.

What place do you think we should od this? 1.) Recker and Thomas 2.) Mckellips and Crismon 3.) Bulldog wash 4.) Sicamore creek ? because i am going to post tonight where we are going to play. My teamates said that if you do bulldog wash do not take gas guns then it will be legal, so that may be where we are playing. don't worry they play there all of the time with aegs, but no gas guns.

Rather than berate you on the internet which is about as useful as pissing into the wind.....

If you'd read the link to the Tonto Website, there is a map which shows legal places to fire weapons, that includes "air rifles" which would be an AEG, airsoft gun or bb gun.  Sycamore wash is still legal at this time so If you are wanting to do this I would say Sycamore or Better yet, up near sugarloaf mountain would be the most responsible, legal place to play.

Bulldog wash is illegal.  I would recommend you reconsider that idea.

Just wanted to post up some information for you all about the new Tonto National Forest Firearms restrictions.  These were executed back in Nov. 2008, unfortunately our webmaster was late in getting this info posted.

Lower right sidebar of frame has links with appendix maps.

PS - Check locations on maps where the 4 Peaks extraction occured not sure how close to the boundary that is, also to the guys from EVA, bulldog wash is illegal.

What mag did you get?  Obviously the A&K / Echo1 has some issues.   Does the CA version work better?

Troubleshooting / ECHO 1 M249 BOX MAG SENSOR
« on: January 19, 2009, 04:34:46 PM »
After a hard prone position setup I noticed my box mag on the saw would only feed with the full motor control.  I managed through a couple of games using my finger under the magazine to force feed the SAW without using the auto sound feature.  Got home and took apart the mag to reveal broken wires coming from the sound mic.   I tried a re-solder job but it doesn't seem to be having much effect.  Anybody have a source for a replacement sound sensor like this, or has anybody had a similar problem?

I'm looking for some ideas on some kind of foam insert or something similar to keep the bb load chamber on the mag of my M249 sealed from the battery and motor compartment.  I know alot of people have done this already so what did you use?

I'm newbie and wanting to play with some other older players.  I'm 41 years young  :D , and my two of my 3 sons (17 and 15) are also wanting to play.  I've got no formal military experience.  I'd like to play with some folks that have game experience and can teach us some tactical points.  My oldest son is considering joining the military and I would like him to get a taste of realistic field play.  Please PM me if you have a game that will fit our experience level.
