To make the games realistic, perhaps you could create a list of objectives that must be completed so as to damage enemy 'supply lines' or such to choke their forces up and prevent them from easily putting reinforcments into the field, affect the equipment they are armed with, the intel they are provided with, and the training/experience their men have

Objectives are a given, it's simply a matter of what the objectives are (which is just a bit of planning). As far as the bonuses for taking over territory.. Also planning and I've actually been working on that.

Who would be interested in a campaign similar to Risk (the board game) spanning however long and using several territories around the state?

Basically, you have team 1 & 2 or however many teams. Those teams begin the series with a number of controlled teritories (probably 6 in a 2 team game or 2 each per team with 3 or more). Swapping control (coin flip or whatever) each team picks an AO to attack a few weeks in advance and whoever wins the territory gets it under their control, if it isn't already. Team A has chosen, Team B chooses and AO. If Team B chooses Strawberry AO which is controlled by team C, Team A would be invited to attack as well and whoever wins.. Gets the territory.

Thoughts, opinions, elaborations?

I want to run a game in February so if enough people are interested, I'll throw a series and a set of AOs together.

"Definition. For the purpose of this Section, a firearm is defined as any device that expels a projectile or projectiles by means of expanding gases."

The law makes sense according to the cops, but a lot of Airsoft guns don't use gas.. Regardless though, they've qualified Airsoft as a weapon.. Supposedly there area  few movements trying to get it classified as recreational equipment, but you're right.. Folks going and breaking the law (and getting caught) can certainly ruin it for the rest of us. I honestly think the problem is the younger kids that don't have the respect yet, but I've seen some adults make errors as well..

In a couple months, I'll be starting a Valley located team based around the brotherhood of Orion gaming clan, but I think we may set an age minimum of 16.. I can keep you posted if you're interested. We'll probably just be a 4-5 man squad.

Nah, I'm going to avoid giving airsoft the bad name and either A. play somewhere else with a few people (5-10) or just go to the Rebel Union thingy on Sunday. I prefer to play it safe with things like this..

As I said, I'm going to see if I can find another place in the valley.. If I do, you're all invited and if Native can come, it's his show (because this is rightfully his event).

I'd go to Sedona if someone would drive me :P
Sorry about the bad news.. Soon as I get off of work, I'll see if I can find a more appropriate place, but I doubt it will matter at that point because it will probably be too late. (Though I am off in 25 minutes or so..)

Well.. I just talked with the ranger at South Mountain and they said.. No go. Ranger said we can't play in the park at all.. Sorry guys, unless you find another location, I'm out.

Sorry for the bad news..

Luck and best wishes,
-Anthony, Phoenix

Note: I did not give a date, just asked about a general game and they said nope. They don't hate us as much as paintballers, but they don't want a police issue heh.

Accessories & Gear / Multicam prices please?
« on: January 04, 2008, 02:00:53 PM »
So I was in APD today pickin up my new gear and I checked prices on multicam. I want to go multicam within the next couple of months and hand my hand-me-down BDUs down to someone else. Prices for jacket and pants was about $80 + tax at APD.. Can anyone tell me about what I would pay at one of the surplus stores or does anyone have a better suggestion for where to shop for them?

Thanks,
-Anthony, Phoenix

General Airsoft Discussion / Event questions
« on: January 04, 2008, 01:41:05 PM »
I'm curious about how I would go about running my own events and how AA would be involved in those events. Never really done an outdoor event before, but I'd love to have a crack at it.

Anyone out there have some advice or information? Also, have I completely missed a topic like this already? (Knowing me.. Probably...)

Thanks folks!

I'll call the Park authorities and see about the game... Native, you might have to have a parent or guardian call them to confirm, but I'll do what I can.. I won't mention that we're using plastic BBs, but if they say no, I'm out. I also won't mention the game being tomorrow unless they ask or give it the OK..

Seems risky, but I'm in as long as my carpool is. I would recomend everyone does not make an attempt to cover their orange tips during this game as we'll get enough flak as it is (discharging a weapon within city limits is illegal and I don't believe they've classified Airsoft as non-weapon recreational equipment yet).

Give me half an hour to see what I can do, otherwise I have to get back to work.

Back in a bit,
-Anthony, Phoenix

Edit: Been trying to get in touch with the park authorities and so far no luck. I've left them a message and will opefully hear back from them, but who knows.. It's not like we get what we pay for :P

Phone number for the parks is (602) 495-0222 if you want to give it a try, Native. Again, you migth want to have an adult handy.

That is just awsome... I am also amused by the idea of a belt-fed M4... Just awsome..
