« on: June 24, 2006, 03:57:10 AM »
ok im an airsoft newb and been bugged by coworkers to get into airsoft. Ive been looking at a TM m4 and an ICS m4. My question is which is more reliable and has plenty of upragdes? And does anyone know of any shops in tucson to actually handle any to get a feel i want something close to the real thing down to the weight as close as i can get it.

ICS M4A1 = metal body but a strange gearbox design

Tokyo Marui M4A1 (latest version) = no barrel wobble + standard gearbox design

You should go for the Tokyo Marui M4A1, I have the ICS M4A1 and while its good in stock form, upgrades can be a bitch. The newer models of Tokyo Marui M4A1 should be great for your upgrading needs.

PBHQ on Prine west of Oracle has an Olympic Arms M15A4. It feels really good. So does the Classic Army AK74. Everytime I pick one of those up I get tempted to switch to an AK.

well i think ics is easier to upgrade but a normal ver. 2 is perfectly fine. Good choice tho to find one with a metal body.

I wouldn't get an ICS, I've seen so many ICS guns break internally.  Stick with either TM or CA, but what warlock said about the CA AK is really true.  The AK's version 3 gearbox is also superior to the M4 series version 2 gearbox.

But in the end, get what gun you think looks good, no sense spending a lot of money on a gun if you hate its appearance.

OK guys i went and checked out PBHQ last week no good m4's but the all black AK was pretty nice ;). Well i got a TM M4 off ebay with 2 standard mags 2 hicap mags forward grip(with no RIS why they even had it confuses me) a 8.4v 600mAh bat. and charger for 250 plus shipping. Just have to go and find a 9.6v 2000mAh bat and go find my old gear from the marines and i should be set for some skirmishes.
