G&G m14 general
« on: June 29, 2006, 02:19:22 PM »
i have some noobish question about the G&G m14...does the new version of the m14 require special gears,i know these questions are going to sound retarded but i want to be 100% positive.  ive seen gears that say "specialy for m14 only". also what other upgrades would you recommend for a SP130 spring upgrade to ensure longevity?

The M14 has a v7 gearbox, get gears for that. I am unfimiliar with the SP130 so I can't suggest anything.

The G&G m14 gear box has 7mm plastic bushing, I upgraded mine with 7mm guarder bearing and Prometheus 130 spring, The G&G gear suck they are  weak link, They will handle the stock spring but with anything upgraded beyond 110 they will fail,

Good news is they are the same as Systema and Other well know makes, I would suggest toque ups
Yes, JT phoenix has a set or two on there shelves right now

Yes to answer your qusetion YES they Version 2  and Three will work ;)

Now the TM 14 gears are smaller in size,

thanks, i just didnt wan to upgrade and become victim to a horrible gear box malfunction. so  new bushings, gears should do the trick. one more question, which type of piston would anyone recommend as not to strip the stock one and create a m14 powerdrill in the middle of a fight

I have a good experience with the systema polycarb piston, I also like the deep fire pistons. Get a trusted brand, just remember everything brakes eventually. I was told that the silent piston head set reduces stress on the piston, when I get that installed in my AK I'll be able to tell you for more about the sound/silent part.
