« on: August 06, 2006, 01:06:00 PM »
Afternoon fella's!

A friend of mine has decided to "follow the light" and walk away from paintball and come over to Airsoft!   :D  :D  :D

He is on a buget and he came across this wonderful looking weapon and asked me about it....

(Photo provided by the wonderful people at Depot53)

I don't know jack sh@t about TM!!! :(  At least not enough to give him any real answers....I'm still learning!

I asked him to hold off for a couple of days and let me see what I can dig up for him before he buys any weapons!

Help me out here fella's!

OPEN YOUR MINDS...AND LET THE INFORMATION FLOW!!!!

Thanks!

Anything TM will be fine, but unless he's getting some deal, I would get a Classic Army. Nowadays, not having a gun that isn't metal is kind of silly.

Good point Vince my man!  That much I do know about TM.  I told Jimmy that he was better off saving just a tad bit more cash and picking up a all-metal model.  He told me how his eyes turned as big as baseballs when he saw this weapon!  I think he is letting his eyes think first and his brain second! LOL

Thanks for the heads up Vince...I'll pass it along to him.

This is what i tell people about TM. "They make GREAT guns, they just KEEP shooting". Nothing more needs to be said. TM are excellent for beginners or experienced players.

Even if he decides that he wants more out of it, there is alot of room for upgrades. And if in fact it deos brake, they are easy to fix.

I don't know if Marui has fixed this, but M16A2 barrel wobble was horrific. Like others have said, get a full metal version. Or, he could get the Marui gun, and get an SRC metal body. I think they are like 70 bucks.

TM makes a one piece barrel M4 (it's called the New Version i think), but not a one piece barrel M16.

Yes, I've heard some horror stories about the A2 barrel wobble. I was once interested in this same rifle, but after reading some reviews I decided to back off. One man said that after a full day of airsoft, he propped his A2 against a log and the whole barrel just bended into an awkward L shape. Obviously hes never tightened the allen screw.

They are some methods of fixing this like the soda can fix (Basically cut a circle of aluminum and wedge it somewhere between the barrel and the body, not sure where though) or just purchase a metal body as Cheeze pointed out.

It also has an EG700 if I'm not mistaken.
My advise would be to hold out and pick up a CA A2.
I believe the CA A2 has a removeable carry handle for better optics as well which is definitly a plus in my book.

If it's an A2 with a removeable handle, it is then an A4.
