M4 C-Mag
« on: September 20, 2006, 07:06:05 PM »
I have a CA M15A4 and am looking at getting a C-Mag for it.  I was wondering how they work exactly, like do they feed on their own or do you have to wind them like hi caps or what?  And then I was also wondering if I should get the CA 2500rd one for $135 or the Hero Arms 3000rd one for $140?  Do either of these have feed problems or anything?  Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't suggest a drum/C-mag mag because they have feeding problems. And there is a "cable" that comes from the drum mag with a bottom on it. And you press that to wind it. But if you over wind it (like me), the spring will jam up and you will need to replace that. They are just not reliable enough. Those are just my experiences, but if you HAVE to get one, buy the hero arms.

C-Mags in general don't belong on M4's, at least that's how I see it.  You may want to ask yourself why do you want a c-mag?  If it is so that you can lay down a base of fire for others to manuver with, then you may think about a saw instead.  If it is just because you are worried about running out of ammo....learn to perform a mag change : )

Yea, but that's custom made.  Also, if you have one on your gun, you can't use it at SWPB, unless it's a support weapon, like a Shrike, SAW, M60, RPK, etc...  Plus, C-mags don't give you any more of an advantage over other people.  You just get used to spraying, while people can just hit you in 1 or 2 shots.

Well if C-Mags aren't allowed at SWPB then I guess I won't buy one.

Airsoft is different than other games with guns because it is intensely MILSIM which, in case you didn't know, means military simulation.  No military unit with a halfway-decent history uses C-Mags on M4s.

I think that a C-Mag would be good for backyard shooting, but on the battlefield, get 100 round or less mags. It looks better, and you'll watch your fire.

I don't stop shooting till I see those hands go up. Many times I have hit people on semi with one shot, and they just ignore it. But when you light them up, then, they put their hands up. That's my experience.

+1, hi caps suck unless used for SAW's. It's funny when people are used to hi caps, and then they use 100 rounds mags and there wondering why their out ammo...

The whole idea behind airsoft is REALISM.  If you prefer having an "all in one" gun and don't care about the milsim aspect, you can just go buy a paintball gun and wear a purple jumpsuit with some endorsements on it.

Delta, you're better off putting the $150 for a C-mag towards some nice gear.....

From what i've heard those Cmags aren't reliable at all, and in my opinion buying an unreliable mag that cost 1/2 of your AEG just isn't worth it.

and C-mags are just uhh, gross

Again, these are fake guns not real guns. Airsoft is a game/sport, If somebody want a M4 with a C-mag there's BIG FUC*ING DEAL no need to bash on them whatsoever.

+1 I'm going to have to agree here. Mislim is a personal choice, not something that is required. Let people do what they want to do, it's just a game, and some people enjoy doing something unique with their weapon.

Also, many times I have seen SWAT use drum mags on their guns.
