You should wait until you are at least 14, better 16. You are welcome to lurk around the forums, but you are probably too young as of right now to attend any games. You should read around a bit, do some searches, and learn more about airsoft so you don't make any foolish decisions.

There are games you can attend at 13, I would reconmend that you get a tokyo marui for your first airsoft gun they last and last. Like chainsaw said people will be rude and say you can't, but you can airsoft at 13 if you choose to. Reminder use the search bar at the top of the page when looking for information.

Yeah, like we said, most people here have no respect for "children" However, I do. So hi.  I was 13 once too.  Anyways, yeah Tokyo Marui is pretty cool, I'm a Classic Army guy myself.  If you want a sniper, and due to your age, I am only ASSUMING you are on a budget, cause lemme tell ya, this airsoft habit will really chisel your funds, you might check out the HFC VSR-11, its a knock off of the Tokyo Marui VSR-10, and can use all the parts, so if you choose to go "ub3r-1337 gh1ll3 pwn4g3" in the future, then you'll be good to go.  Also it rings it at a reasonable 100$.  These forums are a veritable orgy of information, so look around and learn before you make any rash purchases.  That'll about do it...

If this is going to be your first airsoft gun, I would not suggest buying a really expensive gun. There are some pretty cheap snipers and you could try some of those, but you should make sure you really like it before you get an expensive gun. I have a couple of friends that are 13 and they were happy with pretty cheap guns, they might move up later.
You should look at a Tokyo Marui spring pistol to start. They are only $30. (make sure you get a version 2 or 3, they are the ones with hop up.) If you do that for a while with some of your friends with spring guns you should like it a lot. I once read that real airsoft skill comes from years of playing with springers, not buying an AEG for your first gun. But i do not at all disagree with the other guys, TM and CA are great brands, I have a TM. But that probably shouldn't be your first gun.

Yeah... Low quality guns (LPEGs) will only cause frustration. Get a reliable brand that will last a long time and will perform well. TM is great, but they are plastic. And don't get a spring gun. If you want a pistol get a GBB or AEP.

My suggestion would be to make it out to some games and fire a few different guns. I use a CA M15A4 and love it. With all the different guns out there, you have to find what feels good to you. You might like the M4 style , G36, MP5, P90, AK47, AUG, or a sniper rifle might be your cup of tea. Anyway, I wouldnt buy a cheap gun. I would save up and get  Classic Army or Marui. One thing I know, is you get what you pay for.

Ha... springers... i still have my first airsoft guns ever... and they are both Tokyo Marui springers i bought about 6 years ago while living in Japan.  Once i moved back to the states, i wanted to find some friends to play airsoft with.  My first gun was a Matrix AK47.  Paid $70 whole dollars for it.  You are young, and maybe your friends may not have AEGs, or at least some really good ones.  Anyways... after playing several games with the LPEG, i realized i wasted my money.  SO, i saved up and bought a Marui AK47.  It is very reliable, and very durable.  For $270, it was well worth the buy.... not to mention the upgrades you can do to it.  If you plan on attending games with powerful AEGs, your best bet is to just save up for something you know you want, and is worth buying.  You get what you pay for in airsoft... even i found that out the hard way.  Like schmukduck said, if you can, try some different rifles out, see how you like it.  Before i ordered my Marui AK, i played about two rounds with my LPEG, and then borrowed an extra AEG from another player (thanks :)).  I got a feel for different rifles, and a good feeling on decent AEGs.  This is what led me to my $270 purchase... i didn't like my LPEG, and i felt bad asking others if i could use their AEG so i would have a better chance against the other guys.

I don't recommend a sniper rifle for your first gun. True sniper maneuvers will take you away from the majority of the fighting, or at least it should. Get a good AEG, that doesn't need modification, and go get your hands dirty.

Springers are fun, if you're fooling around in the house with some friends. But when you're up against fully automatic rifles, do you really want to cock it after every round?

I'm not an expert. It's mostly a matter of preference. But I definitely agree; look around and learn about the game before getting knee deep into equipment.

Just because you own a sniper rifle does not make you a sniper.

Just like everyone else said, get an automatic first, than upgrade to a sniper once you learn how to play the game.
