Problem with selector switch
« on: November 03, 2009, 08:58:11 PM »
Alright, recently I wired my M4 to the back to accommodate a lipo in the tube set-up. Everything went fine but when I assembled the gun the selector switch would only turn with force. It doesn't take a lot of force, but it's more than it should. I'm guessing this has something to do with the selector plate?

Yep. You answered your own question. Thing's are a little different now with the newer gear box's and AEG body dissemblance's however the fact remains you have to really keep on top of what you are doing when working on these things. Tolerances are tight, and they are not designed well in the sense of getting to them easily.

You probably have a wire run too close to the selector plate.

Is it hard to turn in all directions? or just to semi/auto and easier on the way back.

Did you wire it to the back from inside the gearbox, or from outside of it?

Dang. I had it opened up to try and fix it, but my HurricanE EOTech came and I had to reassemble it to try it out   Can anyone else give me some info? I really want COD 5 and I don't want to have to have it repaired.

I had an issue like this with a hurricane body and it made me think I should recheck the manual because hadn't taken it down in some time. Some bodies are meant to be assembled together by sliding the gearbox into the upper receiver first, then attaching the lower rather then putting the gearbox into the lower and placing the upper on. Could also help if you have the selector switch in semi when reassembling.
