Headshots
« on: April 16, 2010, 06:50:37 PM »
Not sure if this has ever been posted by I'm curious.

Are head-shots typically allowed in airsoft games?

Thanks,

I mostly shoot center mass because it is a bigger target and a hit in the chest is the same as the head. How ever i will shoot for the head if thats all your giving me to shoot at. Say some one is peaking around a corner shooting at me exposing only his head. I certainly wont stand there and get shot at, ill return fire.

Headshots typically are allowed unless the host or scenario states otherwise, like at Marauders zombie games.

And as you can see here, shooting at "center mass" doesn't always take hop-up into consideration.

Headshots happen but should be avoided.

I'm Polish. I get shot in the head all the time. It really is pretty much my center of mass.

We Poles have to use our heads for something.

But as everyone has said. Head shots happens, but avoid them as much as you can.

Yepp... almost everything on the head has thin skin with lots of nerve endings, or just instinctive freak out responses when hit.
Plus there's always the teeth... which like to break when shot.

Ears, nose, forehead, cheekbones, jawline, soft spot on the back of your head, lips and eyebrows all hurt like a mother@$%W$#%$@#$%#%@$#%@#$%@#$%@#$%@#$%!@#&%*&$%^$#&.

Teeth break, glasses hits scare the living bajesus out of you, and last but not least... the adam's apple will make you think the world has ended.

Don't TRY for headshots if you're given any other shot.

They do happen though. Don't NOT take a shot because you only have a headshot... just don't go full auto on their ear from 3 feet away.

For example: I played a game today. Shot at a guy about 250 feet away (I was trying to scare him out of cover, not just hit him).
I hit him in the lip... I think he peed himself a little. I know he threw his gun a little and stumbled a bit and almost fell over (Probably helped that I was far enough away that he didn't hear that single shot being taken). Accidents happen.

Another example from today (because I like to brag): 80 feet, guy popping his head out from a tree with a gun. Tree, gun, head. It's all I can see. I shot him through his red-dot. (Yes, like enemy at the gates... THROUGH the sight, into his nose, clean hit). It was the shot I had, I took it.

I heard that a certain ninja got hit in the ballcap today over at Mt. Ord :p

But yeah in general you shouldn't go out of your way to peg people in the head/face, it pisses people off and causes teeth to get chipped.

On the same token though be understanding if you do get hit in the head/face, I doubt most players in the heat of the moment are deliberately aiming up there. Hop-ups can get messed up or if you just started using a different weight BB and you're not used to what it does near the end of its travel then unintentional head/face shots can happen.
