A battle belt would work fine for what you want to do, you could buy the harness or just get some cheap suspenders and you would be set after buying a few pouches for it.

I would setup my rig like this-

Battle belt w/harness

M4 double mag pouch[or any type of doublemag pouch] On left side
Radio pouch on left side
Utility pouch[such as a medic pouch] on right side.
You can also throw on a Molle pistol holster or just a dropleg for your sidearm.
Then throw on a camelback and your set.

This would provide enough storage for you to carry mags, bbs, maps and your radio while still making it easy to lay prone

You would still have extra molle on the front so if you decide you dont want to be a sniper, you can add more pouches for an assault loadout. This is an overall pretty low price rig if you shop around right.

Not going to lie, If you want cheap and fast, I can sell you an SKS bandoleer, It can hold a bunch of MP7/L96ish mags, and is easy, light, and doesn't hamper mobility, no possibility for expansion however, but I can let you have it for $10ish

For 10 bucks, why not? It'll at least be something so I'm not out there carrying mags and such in my pockets.

@Rogue Fox: I was thinking of a setup like that, but I wasn't sure if it would have enough space for stuff. Sounds like it might just do the trick though, thanks for the suggestion!

Get this, its pretty nice and cheap. The top part folds down so its a chest rig/vest in one.

get another job
or budget

That there is exactly why I'm not buying a $160 dollar chest rig ;)

Some of the great things about getting the legit stuff is that not only can you use it for more then just airsoft, but if/when the time comes when you want to sell it you likely wont lose much money for it (or as much). Last time I looked around I could probably sell my Eagle CIRAS for almost as much as I paid for it and i've had it a couple years or so.

I think MOLLE rigs are totally worth it.

until you actually use MOLLE rigs, you wont necessarily appreciate how convenient they are. but i think there are enough players here advocating MOLLE that you get the idea, it's a great thing to have in your setup... everything is compatible with everything that way.
