AirsoftAZ forum Title
« on: July 23, 2010, 08:51:11 AM »
I think that we could at least make the forum look a little more exciting. Honestly, right now, it looks a lot like a business report of some sort. I've looked around online and a lot of the airsoft forums in other states have a more inviting and exciting background, heading, title, etc. For example, I log on to AA and what do I see at the top? Airsoft Arizona  That doesnt make me, if I had just moved to AZ, very excited about airsoft in AZ. Now if I see some big font and flashy lettering with maybe a cool picture or flag or emblem or something of the sort, all of a sudden, I'm drawn into this site and all of its awesomeness. My point is, I feel like we could expand as a community and stray from the dull current theme and add a little flare to the site. It doesn't even have to be a Huge change. Consider it, and let me know what you think.

Here are some links to other forums with more exciting titles and whatnot.

A) We aren't trying to make people like you excited about it.
B) If you had been around longer you would have known there used to be a flashier title.
C) The person who runs the server doesn't have time to make it shinier for you.

I prefer the conservative layout and style to the crazy over-the-top themes that many airsoft forums employ.

Simple and effective with nothing to distract me from the content.

Most of those sites you linked to are gaudy and some are nearing the point of causing physical pain to my eyes. ;)

What is this, an emphasis on content and not presentation?! What a strange concept!!!!

AA looks best plain.

1. I don't know what you mean when you say, "people like you." I simply stated if i was just joining the forum. Read more carefully before categorizing me.
2. I do remember the old AZ flag title and i don't know what was wrong with that or why it's gone.
3. It was just an idea. Relax This is the suggestion thread, right? That's all I did, was suggest.

Also, if you have trouble staying focussed on the forum because there is a picture at the top, that's your problem  :P
But i just thought I'd mention it and get some opinions. Apparently I'm the minority here, but that's fine.
Any more opinions though?
P.S. I am not in any way saying I dislike the forums nor am I trying to trash it. I love AA and see it as a great tool. I just thought I'd cast an idea out there and see if it got any bites.

I like the forum format as it is, but would love to change some of the elitist attitudes I have been noticing lately. I see no need for such bigoted script in a community setting. That's just my two cents, take it or leave it.

I totally agree. I know I have never seen them even play nor has anyone of my friends. Must be cyber warriors.

Thats because they dont play in the wash behind your house. We've had quite a few of the vets at our games.

You probably don't attend many of the large-scale mil-sim games (Fighter Town and MTT don't count), or any of the games at SASCO.  They regularly attend those, and there are pictures to prove it.  You obviously don't know what they look like.  Some are more active than others, though.

I came here expecting a suggestion for the forum.  I left disappointed.
