M16 A4 Barrel Wobble
« on: August 07, 2010, 10:50:15 PM »
My Echo 1 M16's barrel wobbles every time I use it, and it can get really annoying. How can I fix it without spending too much money? Thanks.

Even the real steel firearm has barrel wobble. Though to counter this, I found, on airsoft, is to get a gas tube (which has no real functional purpose on the airsoft rifle and is just for looks). The gas tube cuts down wobble by at least 60%, and buying a riser rail (which I call a
"wobble reducer") would be ideal. http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=1395

OR; if you have any rail covers, you can slide one of the top rail covers back to connect the upper receiver rail to the hand guard rail. Which won't cost you anything. Y'understand?

Sorry- I didn't specify that I have a normal handguard without any rails on it. I didn't mean to cause a misunderstanding there.

If it's the barrel itself, tighten whatever nut/screws are attaching it directly to the receiver. It's different on different guns, but is usually just a nut directly around the barrel at the receiver that you have to tighten.

If it's just the handguard... not a lot you can do. They aren't very sturdy.

I understood from your post's title, which said "M16 A4", that it had rail because M16A4's have rails. Though in your case, I believe you have an "A2" NOT and "A4". As for your wobble problem, just try tightening the delta ring (the part between the hand guard and the upper receiver) or tighten anything that you see is loose that is holding the outer barrel.

Well I tightened the delta ring on my m16 "a2" -thanks SGT. DANGLE, and the wobble went down about 50%. I can hardly tell that its there now and its a lot less annoying for me. Thanks everyone for your help.

Not a problem. Glad to be of assistance. It's...just my thing, it's what I do.
