Looking to get the right headset
« on: October 07, 2010, 10:20:18 PM »
At first I was kinda liking this but how does it work with goggles that have a strap? Does it smash into the side of your head? I wear the arena flaks.

I am thinking that this is my ideal setup, but I need it to work with my Icom. Anyone know of a headset and PTT setup like this that is Icom compatible?

The cavalvy headset works great and you will figure out how to run it with your goggles.

If the headset doesn't specifically say it works with Icom pin sets it may not, keep looking until you find one that does. I personally don't like the comms that go in the ear, after a few hours my ear feels like death.

Well, I found a headset that seems to be exactly what I was looking for(link below). Picked it up on eBay about a week ago and used it yesterday at Operation Idaho IV. It worked well, sound quality was great, and the PTT button wasn't too small(I was afraid it would be troublesome with gloves on). It was comfortable for my ear(everyone is different) after several hours of use. This particular headset has the option to use a remote PTT button that you wear like a ring on your finger. Not sure I will purchase that, but it is an interesting idea anyway.
