JG Enhanced Full Metal M4
« on: September 03, 2011, 08:52:30 PM »
***Evike is offering 20% off your entire order, for those who don't already know***

Needless to say I took advantage of this and placed an order for the following:
Softair Licensed Smith & Wesson M&P-15 Full Metal JG M4 Airsoft AEG Rifle
http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_44_222&products_id=32876

Matrix Mil-Sim Metal M4 / M16 120rd No Winding Mid-cap Magazine
http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=28790

And of course the usual battery, charger, ammo, etc...

I will post an in depth review when I get the rifle in 3-7 days.
-EDIT 9.9.11- I now have the AEG, scroll down to see first reported cons and some photos.

Okay so here is my order status so far...
Ordered from Evike on 9.3.11
Moved to shipping center on 9.6.11
Shipped via UPS on 9.7.11
Estimated delivery 9.9.11
-EDIT 9.9.11- Package dropped off at 12:16PM.  UPS played ding dong ditch as usual, I swear the guy ran back to his truck and floored it!

So you can all expect a written review of at least 2,000 words / 15 pictures around October 1st.

Or do you guys find that a well made video review would be better?

Okay here are some of the key points I plan to incorporate into the review...please let me know if I am overlooking anything.

Packaging
-Design of box
-Protection that the box offers
-Layout of the box

Externals
-Stock
-Sling Mounts
-Sights
-Receiver
-Magazine Well
-Motor Grip
-Handguards
-Outer Barrel
-Charging Handle
-Dust Cover
-Bolt Catch

I am also working on a complex Matrix that I will use as a 'standard' grading system for all future reviews I post so having this one nailed down is important.

Please only add feedback at this time regarding packaging and externals.  I will break down other categories at a later time.

What comes in the package. ie: if it comes with everything that is advertised that it is supposed to include. Mine was advertised to include a couple of things that were not in there.
Harmful heat in my hugs hide,My lips are laced with cyanide
Never mind my medicine breath,Come hither for a kiss of Death...
Where there once were feely fingers, Now protrude poisonous stingers
Feel I'm left with no recourse,But to kill her with no remorse

Okay so here are a few pre review photos and info about the aeg.

Cons
1 - The packaging is by far not the best!  The magazine had fallen out of its foam holder, not at all secured (design flaw, I bet all aegs come this way).
2 - One of the prongs on the flash hider was chipped off, it was cheap plastic.
3 - The stock is not very secure, I will attempt to repair it...time will tell.
4 - Small amount of play in the handguards.

I do not want to release any pros until I have more time to review it myself.

And now for the photos!
*Photos taken quickly and with a 7yr old 5MP HP Photosmart...expect better quality photos in the actual review.

AEG has already failed...kinda surprised by this to be honest.

The M4 will not allow one to fire in Semi until you cycle to Auto for a few rounds, this happens often.
The M4 will suddenly start dry firing for a random amount of time until it returns to actually firing rounds.  I have adjusted the hop up and lubed the magazine, issue continues to happen.

I just sent a RMA Notice to Evike as per there Warranty if I attempt to repair it I void all Warranties.

I will keep you all updated.

One more soon to learn...

You will soon understand in your own way, why so many of us hate Evike. I wish you the best of luck.

Within 24 hours I had a pre-paid shipping label in my Inbox and Evike offering me a full credit towards a different replica or exchange for same replica, very impressed.  However, I ultimately ignored it and will fix it myself as they do not have another Smith & Wesson AEG in store within the same price range.  Keep in mind I got this AEG over Labor Day for $164 when it normally costs over $200, I can afford to fix / upgrade it.

-----------------------------------------

Second problem with Evike quality of products...
I ordered six JG / Echo1 / Cyma M4 Hi-Caps to go with my new AEG, let me break down the problems.
*All six of have rust on them, on the weld seams and possibly in the internal gear mechanism
*They are not even close to the same shade of black or texture
*Not a single one of them fits into my magazine well

I sent Evike an RMA with exchange request for the MAG Mid-Caps and had it approved within 48 hours, but this time they did not provide a shipping label, no bigger its only $8.  Again, not bad service at all.

-----------------------------------------

Another problem with Evikes quality of products...here we go again
*BONUS* Ordered a tactical vest that came with extra accessories to my advantage, advertised with only having three rifle magazine pouches but mine came with six.  You can remove the right magazine pouches to reveal velcro to attach the included pistol holder.
*Ordered three sets of playing cards and one of them arrived already unwrapped.
*My 9.6v battery was laying lose inside the packaging with nothing to secure it.

-----------------------------------------

Overall I will keep using Evike as they have not "screwed" me yet and they have an unbeatable selection of merchandise and the prices are great.  Also, Evike offers 16% off every order, this alone has already saved me over $100...can't complain.
