All you asked for was some advice on radios and headsets. I think you should be more specific on what you want.

Ok so you need to staart looking at what headsets fit you the best and feel comfortable. I use a throat-mik for my icom f4s radio. Icom's are far the best radio's out there but they are expensive. I statred out with a motorola talk about which was pretty good. Go to Fry's electronics and look at there selection.

FRS or GMRS?

A lot of the bigger more official games will make channel assignments based on FRS to make sure even the most basic radios will work.

If you plan to be an airsofter long term, then you may as well spring for an Icom, but if you're not sure yet, any old Motorola FRS radio will work.
