Hop-up bucking upgrade ?'s
« on: January 19, 2012, 03:34:38 PM »
Sup guys. So I've been trying to read up on this, but haven't been getting too far..... So. I'm planning on upgrading my hop-up bucking to gain some accuracy, but I'm confused at all the different hardness types in all the different pretty colors..... Lol. But really. So help me out here. I was wondering if it depends on fps and bb weight. My cyma041 mp5 shoots 375fps with an m110, shooting  0.25g bbs through a 363mm 6.03 madbull tightbore. So with these mods, what type of bucking would you recommend? Thanks.

I always suggest the "H" hop bucking for like $3, but i got one for my jg m4 and it is a really tight fit an hasnt showed much of a huge improvement. But if it fits it would work well! And get a soft bucking for under 430 with .2g bbs. Good luck!

Also btw dont get the upgradeable springs like s113 from evike for a version 2 gearbox jg m4. Wouldnt fit or work.

Also same with the ball bearing version 2 spring guide for $18 off evike. It never worked either, tried everything as far as i know.

Here's a suggestion.  When none of the parts you bought fit the gun you have, you are doing something wrong.

"Any thin and soft packing will work. The clear is not as thin as say the Guarder Black at 70.

Thing is you want the packing to "stretch" to take "maximum" advantage of the texture of the nub.

So...really any soft HQ packing will work. Prometheus Purple, Guarder Black(70), SystemA,...again the key is soft packing. If the one you want to buy does not list itself as Soft...then its not a HQ packing...it may work...up to you if you want to buy it.

BTW: Packing is the "correct" term for bucking if your confused."

http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_71_368&products_id=31599   Concave is said to work better than h-hops. I personally have a h-hop and it hasnt made any difference in my gun at all.

I've always heard it called bucking.... http://www.evike.com/index.php?cPath=24_71_368

So update from my end, I talked with a guy at Disruptive Products here in Tucson, and he gave me some suggestions. I'm not a hop-up pro, and have since learned what the different "degrees" and whatnot are. The spacer you posted looks nice, and if I end up buying off Evike I might as well buy it. From what I understand, the spacer pushes down on the bucking, which sticks into the barrel. (correct me if I'm wrong.) I'm still not sure how hard exactly to go with the hop-up bucking itself. The guy at Disruptive suggested up to an 80 degree bucking, which is harder than the stock bucking I have, which contradicts you're post about getting a soft bucking.... I'm fine with losing some fps with a harder bucking if I gain accuracy....

Reading up more on the PCS.... Looks like I'll either go with that and a soft bucking, or with a hard bucking and no PCS..... Hmmmm....  ???

The hardness % go's twards FPS, and potential accuracy. you got high fps that you dont full auto alot. you want a softer bucking Increasing your accuracy, But wearing alot faster.

You have a High speed gun. You want a harder bucking, so it doesnt wear as fast.

Higher % is harder, Lower % is softer.

I normally put Mid % buckings in customer aeg's unless there crazy to an extent.  replacing the stock bucking is highly recomended because, really Most companys now use what "works", instead of what "performs".

And also now days, the traditional hopup bucking and Nub are obsolete. theres way better alternatives. if you talk to a real tech he will tell you all about it.

no offence to anyone.

Thanks Slinkey for the info. Could you elaborate what you mean by this?:

and not to mess with ya, But the Concave spacers arn't just a drop in upgrade. Theres alot of prepwork needed to the bucking before the H or SCS nub produces its Improvements, the only way to make them a drop in upgrade is by using them with a kwa 2gx bucking. But that also Needs modification to correctly fit into your hopup because it is alot thinner and wont sit air-tight in your hopup.

and the bucking is stated properly as the bucking, as it is the part that "bucks" the bb adding the back spin. If the Nub created contact.. maby just maby it would be called the bucking. but unfortunatly it doesn't make the contact needed to Be named a bucking.

To answer your question, Trumphet. google "R-hop". theres not very many that can install them in az.

I personally have my own Idea on the r-hop Theory. and i actually make somthing simular. it adds amazing range to you trajectory. But the only down fall is having to use heavyweight bb's like 28 or .3 minimum so it could get expensive.
it works with lighter bb's but just like a regular hop bucking. Pretty much puts a greater Back spin on the bb's. Effecting like 4 variables of how the gun works, internally Inside the barrel and hopup. tottally different compaired to a regular setup.

Find moon cruiser on here he will personally vouch for my mod on his ump, the thing out ranges most long barrel guns on the field haha

you sound like a guy i know lol  8)
Im probably the guy you know. LOL
