What Makes a Great Mil-Sim Match
« on: May 02, 2012, 08:29:44 PM »
In the not so near future maybe 2014 or 2013, i would hope to make a weekend long airsoft Mil-Sim match, and i was wondering if you guys could give me ideas. I already have night and day games, different scenario games, you can take hostages, gas (just smoke bombs lol, but you have to put on a gas mask or a bandanna kind of thing), and that kind of thing. If you guys have any ideas, i would love to have ideas to reflect on. Thanks guys.

Why so far away? But make a very strict system of ranking and communication, vehicles are always a plus. Double crossing, spies, flares, signaling, special weapons (ie; RPGs, Flame throwers, ect.)
I use to airsoft, then I took a BB to the knee.

It would be fun to do one at the SASCO location. Maybe if it was multiple days we could make camp sites with tents and such

Be real infantry and sleep on the ground.  no tents.  I like where this is going though, 24 hour airsoft event with missions and patrols.  i like the sound of that.

It would be really fun to have a ghilli sniper team on each side, so they could sneak around at night and also day and take out people

Night vision is expensive, I found the old models the military used to use (ATN PVS7's) on Amazon for about $3k.  Less expensive monocles with Gen 2 tubes usually run ~$300 to what I can see.

Back on topic, I would definitely be in for something like that.  Gas masks end up kinda hard to work with, because (at least last time I was playing at a match where I could wear one, but didn't have to except in certain situations) they're hard to get on and off while keeping eyes and such protected.  Wearing them all the time works, but they're pretty hard to breathe in.  Having the possibility of attacks and such at night would be pretty sweet though.  I look forward to seeing where this is going.

It is very. But would there be a time like at EX 3:00 to 5:00 AM you couldnt sneek up so we can get some shut eye at least for 2 hrs. Also whats the rule for mid caps/fps/ colors or should we think about that later.

I read some reviews and from what i can tell the low end night vision sux.  I get to however every know in then play with the good stuff in the national guard so its ok if i go play airsoft without it.  but yeah ive always wanted to do like a military op in airsoft.  like do a ruck to an objective, set up a parimeter and have security and all that.  and then attack the objective early in the morning the exfil out.  thought that would be cool.
