I'm thinking maybe a U shape for a bottom layer of. The shoulder pads and a shape like the upper arm guards for the top half? Still trying to figure out a way to make that.

Issue with those is that they add too much bulk in the chest area.

Could you take a big bowel, cut it into fourths, and use it as a template to wrap foam on?

Well yes. But the issue is that the shape of the pads are bent in multiple directions. When you bend in multiple directions, it makes wrinkles.

Hmm. Well they should look close to the ones in the pictures.

Well after hours of thinking and paper model failures. My getting over a cold self have came up with a someone good template. Imagine the following picture was symmetrical.

thanks to the guys with the orange peel idea and blow stuff. Kinda based the idea off that. So after this, the only thing let to do is paint and zombify the suit!

If it's not too late I have a pair of suggestions:
First one is you could make one with several overlapping strips and chicago-screw the corners together to look like this.
Second is you could cut a triangle or two out on the top, then glue the edges back together like the first couple pictures here. It'd make a seam, but it would bend it properly to do what you need.

Luckily I have yet to start on them. Your second link is great! Thanks a ton.

Cut a single piece out in this shape:  /\/\/\/\  Then glue the sides together.  You'll have to experiment with this a bit to get the exact curve you want, but just trim a little bit at a time.

Going to have to redo the fore arm guard straps. Forgot to compensate for the bdu underneath. The digital camo clothes in the picture will not be the ones I'll he wearing.
