Mag brand magazine wont feed
« on: October 09, 2012, 04:35:20 PM »
I have 130 round MAG brand mid cap magazines and they aren't feeding correctly and get jammed in the mag tube, so if anyone can shed some light on how to get them to feed, that would be great.

Thanks,

Assuming we are talking about M4 mags, the 130rd ones suck,  The 100rd mags are far superior.

Is it 120 or is it 130. I couldve sworn my m4 mags are 120. Even though it feels more like 110.

In my experience the MAG brand mags are generally pretty good. I've had the 100 rounders for about 5 years now and after a few games of use, if and when I use them, I spray some silicone oil down them and they still feed and function like they are brand new.

buy good bbs, what would you recommend? I have these bio ones that are 2.0 but i'm not sure how good they are. don't ask me what brand they are cause i got them at an airsoft store when i bought my gun and i don't have the package anymore.

I use MAG mags and haven't had any trouble with them. I simply maintain them like everyone else is telling you here (Super important: Don't over fill, lube once in a while use quality BBs). If you do that and they still aren't up to par, take them apart and clean them really well and make sure the spring isn't messed up. If they are brand new, you may need to break them in: Spray some silicone oil in, load the mag (not overfill), and press the tab that keeps the BBs in to completely empty it. Do this several times using those same BBs (making sure they don't pick up any dirt or dust) so that the oil gets pushed all the way through the mag. Do these and you'll be golden.

If all else fails, I had the same problem with my classic army, just wrap electrical tape around the top of the mag.

when you say top of the mag...does that mean the outer casing top, or the plunger in the feeding tube? I mean i can't take them apart they are the plastic ones, all you can do is take out the spring, so forgive me for being such a nube at this and i don't want to sound winy, but how exactly am i supposed to clean them?

There's a little tab that holds/releases the BB's on the hole that the BBs are in. You can pull it with your fingernail. You'll see it has a tiny spring that keeps it in place.
