Recommend a mosfet?
« on: May 16, 2013, 06:39:32 AM »
I'd like to run my G&P m4 on a 3s lipo.  It's currently completely stock internals.

Should I install a mosfet?  If so, which one would you recommend?

Thanks for the help.

i would definatly recomend a mosfet if you are going to run an 11.1 lipo. it will help save your trigger from melting or ceacing to function from carbon buildup. just about any of the extreme-fire.com fets are realy good, the btcairsoft.com line of fets are good. and there are lots of people that make home made fets that are of good quality. ill try to update with thier info later.
fets that i would stay away from are: burst wizzard fets, acsu, any of the jg or stock fet triggers that are made by companys that make guns.

i am currently running the btc chimera mosfets in 2 of my m4's. i have run the extreme fire cheatah and sw-sf fets as well as the old aws raptors. btc is the replacement for aws but thier new designs of fets are realy good. the spectre fet is due to be out by the end of the month.
i am a dealer for btc by the way, and that influences my opinions a lil bit, but i chose to carry thier products because they are some of the best made products on the market right now.

I also make 3034 mosfets for $20 if you'd like a basic mosfet. Includes all new teflon silver coated 16awg copper wire and new motor connectors and 22awg silver coated copper teflon signal wires.

If you want a more feature rich mosfet, the chimera is pretty cool (I run one in one of my guns) but they are 5x the price. Just depends on what features you want.

Thanks Nuke & Spazz.  I don't think I'm after any features other than protecting the trigger contacts
& preventing a lipo fire.
How difficult is it to install?

then what you want is a basic mosfet. pm nukeduster about getting one from him. i am sure he could make one that would be very user friendly for you to install. he also does tech work so he may even install it for you for a small additional fee. pm him and talk to him about it.
