Basher you should have stopped by my table and said hi.  Yep there were a bunch of pre-ban's being toted around at ridiculous prices.  Everybody's worried that they're going to lose too much money hanging on to them.  I even had a guy come by with a 50 round Thompson drum mag wanting $1,300, that's right thirteen hundred dollars.  Come Sept it will only be worth $285 if he's lucky.  I told him good luck on selling it.

I was thinking of going to at least look for some ammo tomorrow. What are the hours of the show? Also, I haven't been to the place before, could someone give me an street address or a link to a website for the show?

edit: and Harley, where is your booth?

Harley, what table do you run?????? Had I known you had one, I'd have dropped by for sure! Truth is, I may have stopped by and just not known it! Will you be at the CrazyRoads of the West show on the 11-12th of September (named because of the mass hysteria that will be taking place due to peole trying to get rid of their pre-ban goodies at the last moment)? Tell me what booth you run, and I'll stop by to chat for a while. [:D]

The wife and i went today.. our first gun show.  Cant say i was all that impressed really.  Sure there was a lot there, but not much as far as deals go on normal items.  Great place for rare-ish stuff, but not what i was looking for at least.  I was lookin for a German (not turkish..which everyone had) K98 since J&G have been out of them...there was 1 and it was in TERRIBLE condition but the guy wanted over $200 for it.  Then i was looking for a Remmington 700 PSS.. there was ONE GUY selling them.. and they were brand new and he wanted $800 for the 308 version.  I dont need a new one.. and i can get used for less through AZ Tactical if i want to.  SO yea.. i wasnt too impressed.  I was hoping for some decent deals but just didnt find any on the stuff i wanted.  That and the $6 for parking and $8 to get in... thats nuts!  Anyways... theres a place for everything i guess.. this just wasnt the place for what i wanted today.  Wish Harley would have said what booth he was at, since i dont know what he looks like i didnt know who to look for.  I did see the Practical Tactial booth though.. would have been nice had i been looking for gear! They had a lot of stuff.  Ill be waiting for J&G to get those K98's back in (they told me friday that they would be about 2 weeks), and then savin up for a bit to get that Remm.700.   Then ill hit the show in sept. for some nice glass to put on the Remmington.

Guys the booth I work at is "Ross Guns and Pawn".  I'll be working the whole weekend of the September show this time.  Normally I only work the Saturday shows.  Ruiner you'd **** if you saw the deal that TheCrow got on a Savage .308 bolt gun.  Such a nice trigger pull you'd cream yourself.  I found a guy selling Thompson M1A1 parts kits for $450!!!  Naturally I bought one so now my post dealer sample Thompson is under way.  The $200 I saved from what I figured the kit would cost me will almost pay for the %80 receiver for it.

I could't believe some of the prices going on this weekend.  Found a dealer with a couple Thompson drum mags for $1,000 each. I told him I forgot to pack my KY jelly and he me offered WD40 instead... lol.

I bought a Savage 10FP .308 from Wal-Mart - brand new for $450 and it came with the Accu-Trigger.  Very nice rifles for the price.  A great substitute for a 700 PSS.

The gunshow was a little strange for me.  There were lots of pre-ban stuff, but it seemed everyone was trying to rip people off at the last minute.  I saw a Steyr SPP for $2500!!!  It is really sad that fellow gun people are are trying to screw other gun people (and not in a fun way...)

I got that Savage 110FP in .308 with a 3-9X40 Leupold scope, mounts, sling, and Harris bipod for $550.  The trigger is very sweet.

very nice Crow!  I looked at the Savage over at AZ Tactical when i was there.  They were selling it with a scope and also the Harris bipod for around $800 i believe.  Sounds like you got a steal.  I didnt look too hard at it since i honestly didnt know much about the Savage model.  I did note the trigger it had on it.. very nice stuff.

I'd agree that this show was kind of a let down. The shows that take place outside (or in the other, larger building) are usually much better. This show had hardly any AR stuff, when usually I'll go and there will be literally be tables that reach from one end of the room to the other covered with AR uppers (which is what I was looking for). I found about three tables with uppers, all of which were way overpriced (even the post-ban stuff). The September show should be better, but the only thing I plan to buy there will be more ammo, a lower receiver (but chances are I'll be making an appointment to go get one from Ameetech Arms here in Mesa), and an ARMS #40 BUIS (if I haven't ordered one of those yet). Mags will come AFTER the ban sets, or maybe at the show if people drop prices enough to make a tiny profit.

I'm going to call RRA and order my pre-ban upper tomorrow so it'll be here in time for me to assemble it on the 13th. But that means I have to wait until the last minute to buy my lower. [:(] Oh well.

Actually, I don't think the September show will be better for AR stuff.  I think you will get a lot of dealers that will be asking even MORE for (formerly) preban uppers since they will be in HUGE demand.
